The hit show returns to our screens tonight on Channel 4 and the new series sees Jesse's character John almost rekindle his affair with newly-single Gabrielle Solis. When the former lovers accidentally bump into each other at the airport, emotions run high. However, in real life the 28-year-old has been dating pop stunner Nadine, 21, for nearly a year and says he knew straight away that she wasn't the type to fall for any "lines". He told the February edition of Loaded: "Nadine and I met in Australia in a bar. She actually came up to our group. "I could tell straight off that she wasn’t the type to eat up game – to fall for lines. "So I wasn’t really spitting much game. I was just trying to play it cool. "It seems like it worked." Jesse, who played a cheating toe-rag in movie John Tucker Must Die, admits he was once unfaithful. "The girl cheated on me although I did cheat on her. At least I got her first," he said. "Don’t go for revenge. I think it’s a bit childish, really. The best revenge is acting like you just don’t care and walking away. "If you want to p*** someone off, just act like they are not affecting you, that’ll do it." And he reckons "a confident girl" will do it for him every time. He said: "I like a confident girl, one who knows her mind and who has something going on in her life. "That creates a little separation, which is healthy for a relationship. "You don’t want a girl who is going to glue onto your life and be too needy. I like a girl who is independent." In Desperate Housewives, Jesse made his name playing the toyboy lover of Eva Longoria's character Gabrielle Solis, and he admits the part has made him firm favourite with the female fans, especially the older variety. "I get a lot of very aggressive, direct offers that kind of make me blush," he explained. "I often get older ladies coming up to me and announcing that they are a desperate housewife and they have a ‘bush’ that needs trimming…"
