Meanwhile, the late Glen Campbell, and the current Eric Church rocket up 67 spots to 3 with Hold On Hope, a song for our times originally recorded by Glen mid-Alzheimers in 2011. That's Glen's first top 10 since a bunch of posthumous oldies did it in 2017, extends his chart run of top 10's to 55 years since I first charted the eternal Wichita Lineman, and his 24th in total. Shaznay gets a new top 40 as one drops out, Sgt Slick gets a 2nd top 40, Starsound a 4th, and the highest new entry is an Aussie collab between Sia and Kylie, Dance Alone at 50, Sia's on 22 years of charting and Kylie's on 36 years. Featuring in a new TV advert and the sales chart, The Chi-Lites classic 1971 track Have You Seen Her is back for a 3rd chart run, hitting 4 in 1972 and the top 10 in 1975, while more 70's soul enter for The Detroit Spinners following the death of the last-surviving member Henry Famborough - I'll Be Around debuts for the first time, having only charted previously in cover versions, while Could It Be I'm Falling In LOve charted in 1973 and 1977. Paul Young returns to the chart, older and huskier on When The Stars Go Blue, and it really has been 30 years since he last charted, for a chart span of 46 years, while Gabrielle is back again after a modest gap of 3 years, and a 31-year span of chart hits. Above & Beyond also return after a bit of a gap - 7 years - for their 5th chart hit, alongside Zoe Johnston who last charted with them in 2015. Yes, and? Stalking. #22 peak? Maybe? Deep in your love climbing, not to be sniffed at. Houdini still doing decently well. I heard training season this morning. It's decent but I'm not quite sure where I stand on it yet. Alibi maybe will just scrape the top 40 here? I'm surprised it's doing as well as it is officially to be honest. Dance alone is pretty decent. Having not been a fan of Sia the last few years, this is refreshing though it may be more to do with Kylie than anything else lol. Nice chart ^_^

Yup, Never Be Alone is now top 10, spot on there, and Ariane has peaked (just got overwhelmed by fresher stuff, rather than me getting less fond of it). :D Training Season took a couple of plays, but the Tame Impala vibes just grab me. Alibi, I suddenly found started to get on my nerves a little bit from over-exposure on the radio, the Gangsta's Paradise bed is fab, but the changes to the original cover don't improve on it. Sia & Kylie's is fun, not a classic I expect but nice to see them duet. The Sheryl track was a discovery for me, don't know how I missed it! The Black Keys, yes it's their biggest charting track for me (and best record I think), but they had 2 top 10's in 2012 in Lonely Boy and Gold On The Ceiling. Akron, Ohio, Wikipedia says they come from, not an area I've ever been! Niagara is the nearest :lol: Devo also from there, Whip It! I'm from a coal-mining town originally, Mansfield is smaller than Akron, but these days I live in what is basically 3 towns in one - Poole, Bournemouth & Christchurch, one single urban area and local government area of over half a million, so quite big considering my back garden is literally right next door to the rural woodland and heathland countryside. There are no famous popstars from Mansfield :lol: Lil Boo Thang is very much borrowing the fantastic Emotions' Best Of My Love record, which my room-mate bought at university when it was a hit in late '77, so I got to hear it often, classic disco-era dance-funk from Earth Wind & Fire's Maurice White pretty much. That's nice that you got to see Melanie, I would have made the effort if she'd toured over here, but she seemed to disappear never to re-surface after 1974 - a shame as she was quite cool during the hippy phase, a good songwriter. Hope youve had a good week (so far) and the weekend is relaxing! I had no idea you had no idea bel canto was an oldie, you often have remixes of golden oldies (and obscure oldies too!) :lol: I had a count of PSB top 10's as I had no idea how many they'd had and it's starting to push 90, so they should hit that target with the new album. Though, including songs written for other acts, and as producers, it's well over 100 (3 for Dusty, 3 for Liza, Eighth Wonder, Electronic, Bowie, Robbie, Girls Aloud, Kylie). Dance Alone is a good track, but one feels it should be an epic track given the collab, and it's not going to be listed in either act's list of top tunes tbh. I'll Be Around is wonderful, but it was a complete flop in the UK I'd never even heard of it until the 1984 Terri Wells hit cover, which was great - but not as great as the original when I bought Detroit Spinners hits CD. Love it. Lonely Dancers is great fun, and I can spot the inspiration for it - totally Men Without Hats' Safety Dance! Not melody-wise, just the sound.
