Eboue should have been sent off for elbowing Garcia in the face & Arsenal had definitely two (if not three) players in offside positions for the second goal.

So far referee Steve Bennett is more Gordon Bennett. :arrr:

:cheer:

They hadn't conceeded more than once all season at precious anfield until toight as well.

3 great goals. :D

I think it is fair to say that tonight the best side lost.

Liverpool dominated the Game, had the vast majority of the chances & spent most of the game in the opposition half.

I mean apart from their three goals how many chances did Arsenal create tonight?

Why were the Liverpool fans holding there scarfs up and singing you'll never walk alone as if going out in the third round isn't a bad thing.

Outrage as ex-S*n boss denies lies

Jan 04 2007 - By Luke Traynor, Liverpool Echo

FORMER S*n editor Kelvin McKenzie has angered families of the Hillsborough tragedy victims by insisting: "I never wrote lies".

The shock admission, made in a no-holds barred interview this week, has stunned the people of Merseyside.

The tabloid was condemned for its infamous The Truth article, written during its coverage of the Hillsborough tragedy, when it wrongly accused Liverpool fans of being directly responsible for the tragedy in which 96 people died.

Despite the paper printing a full-page editorial apology two years ago for the "most terrible mistake in its history", McKenzie has now whipped up fresh controversy with his comments.

Speaking to journalism trade magazine Press Gazette, McKenzie said: "When I published those stories, they were not lies.

"But I don't really think of it all in the way you suggest. They were great stories that later turned out to be untrue - and that is different.

"What am I supposed to feel ashamed about?"

The reaction, coming 17 years after Hillsborough, has bewildered and infuriated football fans across Merseyside.

Phil Hammond, chairman of the Hillsborough Family Support Group, today called on McKenzie to reveal his sources for the story.

He said: "I can't believe that even after all these years, there is no remorse or regret for the hurt he caused.

"He can't hold his hands up and say 'we got it wrong.'But then, that is the man all over.

"He should tell the people of Merseyside where he got the story from and whohis sources were. We have a right to know."

The former editor has recently returned to nation's airwaves during the summer's World Cup, prompting complaints from listeners.

And the ECHO's website was inundated with furious messages from Liverpool fans upset he was back in the spotlight.

McKenzie returned to The S*n to work as a columnist from May 2006 where he has again courted controversy by making disparaging references about Scotland.

Today, The S*n is still blacklisted from many newsagents across the region.

Richard Pedder, chairman of the Liverpool FC Supporters' Club, said: If he still believes those views, there is something wrong with him.

"He is just trying to cover his back, but comments like this are just hurtful.

"The bloke is forgotten about now, he's not important."

If I had to choose between hanging the former editor of the Sun or Saddam Hussein, I would choose Kelvin McKenzie 100 times out of 100. Hence my avaitor and message in my profile. :arrr:

Credit to Arsenal in that they took all their goals well. The first was out of nothing really. The second should never have happened, but I guess thats what you get when you can't close a man down! And the thrid was well what Henry does best. Totally against the run of play and it sends defeat to Liverpool.

Still I think Liverpool played very well in the second half. Too many wasted chances though and Arsenal were very lucky in some cases.

It may actually be a good thing that Liverpool are out of the FA Cup though, I mean our efforts will be placed on The League and The Champions League and there will be no side distraction of the FA Cup.

Apart from hoof balls into the box, did Liverpool create a single chance apart from the goal? NO.

Liverpool, in any other match, probably wouldn't have lost that if it weren't for quality finishing and $h!t goalkeeping. But Wenger's tactics were spot on.

Old Trafford 0-1

Stamford Bridge 1-1

Anfield 1-3

It's annoying, and I wish he'd stop it. But to say he's the worst is just REDICULOUS when you have Robben and Drogba in the same league.
