Snoop Dogg) ‘I Wanna Love You’, up 16 places from No18 to No2. With two Number Ones under his belt for ‘Smack That’ and ‘Lonely’, the hat-trick could be within Akon’s grasp next week. The Kaiser Chiefs could also be in contention, climbing from No31 to No7 this week with downloads of ‘Ruby’ – the CD version is available from today (Friday). The Blizzards have the highest climber in this week’s Top 50 at No16 with their fifth single ‘Fantasy’: of the previous four, only ‘War Of Words’ failed to make the Top 20, stalling at No25 last October. Snow Patrol have a sixth consecutive week at No1 on the Album Chart with ‘Eyes Open’, making it ten weeks in total at No1 since release in April last year. Mika climbs one place from No3 to No2 with ‘Life In Cartoon Motion’, chased at No3 by Rod Stewart’s ‘If We Fall In Love Tonight’, one of four Rod Stewart collections in the Top 30 – ‘The Best Of’ at No15, ‘Still The Same’ at No17 and ‘The Story So Far’ at No22. The Fray have this week’s highest new entry at No4 with their debut ‘How To Save A Life’. Originally released in September 2005 in the States, the album holds the current record for best-selling digital album of all time. Mika has a fourth week at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Grace Kelly’, ahead of Jojo ‘Too Little Too Late’ at No2 and Akon (feat. Snoop Dogg) ‘I Wanna Love You’ at No3. Beyoncé’s ‘Listen’ is this week’s highest new climber at No6, the first single to be lifted from the Dreamgirls soundtrack and the tenth hit single of her solo career, matching the ten she had with Destiny’s Child. Kelis is another high climber, leaping from download-only No31 to No8 with the CD release of ‘Lil Star’, her fifth Top 10 single in Ireland. Looks like there will be some changes on the Irish chart show in a couple of weeks time! Current presenter Rick O'Shea presents his last programme next Friday as he is moving to an early afternoon slot as part of a revamp of 2FM. It still isn't clear whether the show will continue with a different presenter or be moved to the weekend. I had the misfortune to listen to the show this evening and it was dire. Despite being a Top 40 show they started off by playing Justin Timberlake and skipping through the rest of the Top 20 in less than an hour not even bothering to mention the songs they didn't play. And Rick kept playing the wrong jingles at various timesÂ

Nelly Furtado holds for a second week at No3 with ‘Loose’, ahead of Snow Patrol’s ‘Eyes Open’ which drops to No4 after seven weeks at the top. Despite missing out on this year’s Meteor and Choice awards, Duke Special continues his steady ascent of the album chart, with a climb of 5 places from No13 to No8 for ‘Songs From The Deep Forest’, five months after the album debuted at No31 on release last year. Having seen off challenges from Just Jack, Akon and JoJo over the past few weeks, Mika makes it five weeks in a row at No1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Grace Kelly’. This week’s challenge comes from Take That’s ‘Shine’, climbing from download-only No20 to No2 with the CD version released this week. Downloads of The Fray’s ‘How To Save A Life’ have been building steadily every week over the past 8 weeks, and this week the physical release of the single propels the Denver quartet up to No3. Cascada has this week’s highest new entry at No10 with ‘Miracle’, her 3rd Irish Top 10 single following ‘Everytime We Touch’ which spent 6 weeks at No1 last year and ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ which peaked at No3. Had another listen to Rick O'Shea last night and have to say it didn't get any better. The guy even admitted on air that he didn't want to be presenting the show. One plus point about his final programme - he told us what will be happening next wek and its the best possible news. The new presenter will be.... Larry Gogan and the show will be either Saturdays 3 to 6pm or Sundays 2 to 5pm. Not sure if it will be the full 3 hours or just part of the programme but at least Larry knows what he is doing and we can be sure he will count down the full chart ..and it seems those Late Late performances paid off with Duke Special climbing into the Top 20 and both Take That singles moving up as well!

David O’Connor fails to translate his ‘You’re A Star’ winning votes into downloads as effectively, up from No20 to No7 with ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, while third-placed Maeve O’Donovan moves up from No25 to No21 with ‘Landslide’. Meanwhile Alex Gaudino (feat. Crystal Waters) has this week’s highest climber with ‘Destination Calabria’ up 32 places from No37 to No5, five places ahead of this week’s other fast mover: Fergie (feat.
