June 26, 2024Jun 26 Nice choice for a cover art. Originally wanted a pool party. Edited June 26, 2024Jun 26 by WazzupMyBoyz
June 26, 2024Jun 26 Author Also just spotted an awful crediting format with Disc 1, Track 18. Never do I recall a credited artist appearing in the song title (unboldened) text. Poor Clementine Douglas not getting an official credit where she is due one.
June 26, 2024Jun 26 With Gracie Abrams, they included her previous non top 40 hit over her current top 40 hit. They should’ve included the latter instead of the former

June 26, 2024Jun 26 Author and they’ve got Djo billed as ‘DJO’. Only a little thing though, but details matter! Indeed they do! When did Charli change from "XCX" to "xcx" it's another inconsistency!
June 26, 2024Jun 26 Indeed they do! When did Charli change from "XCX" to "xcx" it's another inconsistency! In fairness, Charli has officially become ‘Charli xcx’ in the last month or so!

June 27, 2024Jun 27 That artwork is gorgeous! I think the only omission for me is "Set My Heart On Fire", 'cos you can never have enough Celine Dion. Especially since she's only appeared twice on the Numbered Nows
June 27, 2024Jun 27 Author For the last time...is the NOW 115 review ready? Here's a reminder of my response to you the first time you asked me from Sunday; I will get to work on this in the coming days hopefully. ^_^ To update you, I've not yet done so, but today I have time to revisit this compilation so I will begin my listenthrough and preparing the opening post for stats and later begin work on Disc 3. I should have it completed by this weekend for you.
June 27, 2024Jun 27 Author Just been considering the short list of omissions again as I listen to the latest tracklist; Tommy Richman, Mark Ambor, Central Cee and Shaboozey feel like the most notable absences aside from the obvious (Taylor, Beyoncé). Not sure the thinking with omitting Mark Ambor if he's been used on other international compilations, but Shaboozey whose still at #3 must be getting saved as a "late" add for the Autumn. It doesn't seem sensible, but perhaps it's still just too big right now. RAYE and Central Cee’s omissions off Now 118 is them being anti-1xtra again Neither seemed certain to be included, but you'd have suspected they would continue to support RAYE with her triumphant Brits night earlier in the year. I guess the single was tricky to sequence, especially in it's full length. With Gracie Abrams, they included her previous non top 40 hit over her current top 40 hit. They should’ve included the latter instead of the former Yes, I suspect Gracie Adams will return to the tracklisting on the next edition, if not with Close To You then another single released in the future. I think the only omission for me is "Set My Heart On Fire", 'cos you can never have enough Celine Dion. Especially since she's only appeared twice on the Numbered Nows This is starting to feel like an oversight in my view and I'd rather this than the inclusion of Midnight Ride on Disc 1 just to maintain their investment in Kylie's record for most individual artist appearances in the main series. I could see the Majestic single making the Top 40 in the coming weeks too. I would have felt certain Coldplay feature here too but I guess they will have to wait for a few months for feelslikeimfallinginlove to be included. Other than the above, no other real shocks which is a good sign. For certain we will see the likes of Sabrina, Billie, Ariana, Perrie, JADE and maybe Katy Perry on 119 later in the year.
June 27, 2024Jun 27 Even if RAYE’s omission is because the song is too long for the album, they could’ve at least included part 2 aka the radio edit
June 27, 2024Jun 27 Author Even if RAYE’s omission is because the song is too long for the album, they could’ve at least included part 2 aka the radio edit These are the anticipated runtimes worked out by another member of the Now Facebook group; So around 20 minutes of free disc space could have been used to have another 5-6 extra songs if they wanted to.
June 27, 2024Jun 27 Could be less than that if any songs get edited down. This is why they should just fill the discs instead of leaving massive gaps which could easily be filled

Poor Clementine Douglas not getting an official credit where she is due one. NOW 94 from 2016 had this on the back cover. CD 1 1. Calvin Harris - This Is What You Came For (feat. Rihanna) And I believe this came at a time when Rihanna's songs were already difficult to licence (starting from the Unapologetic era, except the song "Diamonds" which had a late appearance on 2013's NOW 84). June 27, 2024Jun 27 I’m not sure it’s as simple as just filling the discs up to 80 mins each regardless. If you licence 6/7 more songs you have to pay for them, so you either take off some of the bonafide hits to afford them or cheapen the album even more by going to the depths of extreme filler (which people always complain about). I’d rather have fewer, bigger songs personally and this album features the most big top ten hits in quite some time. I suspect that’s where the money went. In fact I’d honestly rather have 40 songs including 20 top ten hits, if budget allowed. I expect it’s quite a balancing act.

It wouldn't go a miss for them to "take a chance" on an unheard artist though, just like the US version does each edition with "What's Next" to give less noteworthy names a platform to help them get some exposure. I get that happens to an extent already, but I mean with deliberately untested, untried names that haven't been on the compilation series before. I can't imagine that would be difficult to license, or expensive either.
June 27, 2024Jun 27 The artists who won’t license their music should take a leaf out of Pet Shop Boys, Bruce Springsteen and Ed Sheeran’s books and backtrack on this
