Posted January 7, 200718 yr Well, they're performing almost every song off The Open Door now. During the promo tour at the end of last year they missed out some tracks, but they seem to be being played now. There are no UK dates for the tour yet. They're in Canada, Australia and Japan until 17th February. Here's the setlist anyway. SETLIST FOR 2007 WORLD TOUR Sweet Sacrifice Weight of the World Going Under The Only One Cloud Nine Lithium Good Enough SWQ Whisper CMWYS Imaginary BMTL Haunted All That I'm Living For Lacrymosa Encore: My Immortal Your Star It's just a shame that they don't have any cover songs like Zero or Thoughtless, but still, that's a lot of songs, great news. Just hope they come to the UK now. So, that's the setlist for the world tour, but what would YOUR dream setlist be if you went to an Ev concert?
January 27, 200718 yr Nothing from the "Origin" days.... Bad, very bad... I really hate it when bands just seem to 'forget' or ignore their older stuff.... Sure, they've got a new album to promote, but if you go to, say, an Iron Maiden gig, they dont just forget to play the old classics from the 80s....
January 28, 200718 yr It would be nice to get a song of Origin added in their somewhere, but I guess with limited time on stage they can't play it all and fans are probably wanting to hear TOD. It would also be nice if they added some UK dates - so far ones for Japan, Australia, New Zealand, US, South Africa and Brazil are out. Surely we must be next?! Edited January 29, 200718 yr by NatalieMT
January 29, 200718 yr LMAO Even Brazil is on the schedule and UK is not. I guess their strategy is to tour first in the countries where the album is shifting better.

The 'limited time on stage' excuse is a total crock Natalie... The headline band can easily dictate how much time they wanted on stage... If they want 90 minutes, two hours whatever, they'll get it, even if that means the support act has to play five minutes after the doors open to about two men and a dog... Plenty of gigs start in London at 6pm, you get three bands, the headline act ALWAYS plays for at least an hour and a half... Just looking at that set list, you've barely got 70 minutes of Evanescence there, and that's with an encore.... Rip off IMO... I paid £25 quid to see them a few years back and they were onstage for barely an hour... Most other bands even with only one album proper out would have played longer, digging out fan material, demos, early unknown recordings, The Arctic Monkeys did this when they toured, and it was a huge success apparently... Murderdolls managed an 80-odd minute set, actually taking requests for songs from the crowd and doing a bit of a 'Punk Rock Covers' improv aspect to the set, they didn't get all precious about it and say "oooh, no, we cant do this, we haven't rehearsed it for six months solid in the studio...", they just got on with it and did it, even if they did fukk it up a bit, nobody cared... A brilliant gig that was... No, I'm sorry, Evanescence dont play material from "Origin" simply because the dont want to, not because they cant, and it is disappointing to say the least.... :( I thought the reason they'd excised "Origin" from live sets originally was because of Ben Moody's obsession with pursuing the commercial side of things, and, well, let's face it, "Origin" material doesn't exactly fit in with that ethos... But with no Ben Moody, what's the reason now...?
January 30, 200718 yr Didn´t Whisper and Haunted were also featured on origin? Haunted was Called Origin. And yeah Whisper was on it too. Edited January 30, 200718 yr by x-The_Royston_Poisoner-x
January 30, 200718 yr I'm sure most of the fans who go to these shows will know the Origin stuff anyway - so they should perform some of it :( I would love to go if they did a UK date - hopefully they will coincide it with the release of the next single to help give the album a boost. I would love another live dvd/cd release like 'Anywhere But Home'.
January 31, 200718 yr Didn´t Whisper and Haunted were also featured on origin? Radically different versions though, hardly even the same songs when you compare them to the ones that ended up on "Fallen".... Why not perform "Breathe No More" live...?
January 31, 200718 yr I'm sure most of the fans who go to these shows will know the Origin stuff anyway - so they should perform some of it :( With the "Origin" songs, as well as other demos and what have you, all over the net on fan share sites, I would reckon that about 90% of Ev's fanbase are aware of just about everything the band have ever recorded.... This set-list is 'play-it-safe', by the book stuff..... And, like I say, clocking in at just about 70 minutes, it really isn't that great... You look at a band like Within Tempatation, I've got the live DVD of their "Silent Force" tour, and while the set list is quite biased towards that particular album, there's plenty of room for material that goes back to the band's first mini-album.... European and British bands generally just give more to the fans.... High profile US bands (and Ev are certainly NOT the only culprits of this, I've been disappointed by sets from Korn, Marilyn Manson and Deftones as well..) come over here after they get big and famous, and just p!ss on us with a "will this do" mentality that is extremely disrespectful. The bigger they get, the less they seem to try.....
January 31, 200718 yr Where the hell is their best song ever by far, Everybody's Fool? I can't believe Whisper and Haunted which were not even released are performed. They should also perform BMTL. No one cares if it was a "Ben song" Amy, it made you big and you should stick to it. I'm not a huge fan of the song but you can't just ditch the song that made most of the fans, fans. That's like Britney Spears without "Baby One More Time." They should have done some songs from Origin too... like 2. That album did exist and it had some of their best songs. Still a great show, I'm sure. :D Just very disappointed about Everybody's Fool.

They should play it though, it would give people time to go to the bar or the toilets..... Good point about "Everybody's Fool" though (one of the three songs on "Fallen" that dont make me want to reach for the 'off' switch...), very strange omission that one..... But I aint surprised, there's no "Origin" stuff either....
