It's a joke because people aren't streaming songs you like?

I think his (weekly) grievance is more to do with old songs being streamed and not enough new ones breaking through more quickly. Or something.

To many pineapples on Buzzjack like here same songs every week

Not exactly, I mean for what it's worth I kind of agree with you and I wish the chart would move more quickly. But whinging about it week in week out isn't really gonna change anything is it?

That why stop listening to the charts? 10 week ago I like chart early 00s

The average person does not really scour for new music or pay that much attention to the charts so it's going to be difficult to change the trend that exists now as most people probably listen to 95% the same songs for the whole year

Good for you? Some of us are still interested. Personally I think actually giving songs time in the spotlight beats them being in for a week or two and disappearing though there is a balance.

Chart need go back Sunday that last day week not Friday said move Friday new music day is

You do realise that's never going to happen. Friday being an international release day is a worldwide record industry standard now. There certainly not going to delay the chart by two days just to suit people who think things were better in the old days (and I liked it being on a Sunday)

And this would ruin things even more for new music as they'd have 2 days of sales and streams split from their first full week...

Benson had a bump in sales for Beautiful Things but not enough to overtake Hozier

they're pretty close though 687 vs 642K

Benson is ahead on youtube and Itunes and apple so not totally out of the question but hozier looks favourite

Benson has another version at #132 on Amazon, won't be contributing much but it's something. Does seem quite neck-and-neck so far with Benson's YouTube, Apple and iTunes advantages, but Hozier is likely to pull ahead as the week goes on so I'm fully expecting him to take the official #1!

Yay for a new peak for Slow It Down :cheer: and In the Stars benefiting greatly, wonder if it could do enough to get a reset? Could block Cry debuting top 100 potentially if that happens.

Who's the favorite for the #01 album this week ?

J. cole ?

One of The Libertines, J. Cole, Vampire Weekend or The K's - it's hard to tell currently. My money would be on The Libertines though.

Hope Benson will have a top 10 with his first album.

I'd keep expectations low without a CD for the first week

Tbf I loved the chart on a Sunday. I timed having a shower for it, then listening as I got ready for Monday etc. It was more of an event too

Yeah, my money would be on The Libertines too. The Conan Gray album is excellent, shame he's releasing on such a competitive week!
