Pet Shop Boys' Christmas EP 2010 They have never had a number 11, almost certainly due to my internal bias to get them a top 10 if they are that close to the top tier. The same bias prob kept them waiting 15 years for a number 2 and 28 years for a number 3 - they tended to get number ones or dropped short by a few places, and chart-toppers So Hard and Red Letter Day, for example, should have been a bit lower really.
June 30, 20241 yr Author Rent only #4? :o That’s one of my absolute favourites of theirs Yes bit of a classic - It was up against some major then-all-time faves from my just finished West Coast Californian holiday though - Little Lies (Mac), Bad (Jacko) and 2 hot new tracks back in the UK (You Win Again, BG's, and Pump Up The Volume, MARRS), so it was lucky to get to 4, really! It's better than Bad, in retrospect, but I still prefer t'other 3.
June 30, 20241 yr Author Rent is one of the greatest lyrics in music. so good they got Liza Minelli to cover it on her fab album they wrote (some tracks) and produced (all tracks). It's a shame If There Was Love isnt better known, bit of a fab ballad that one.
