'Be The One' is categorised as "indie pop", by her label. She started off as an indie artist but got more and more commercail with each release. Be The One was one of her first singles though, hence why it has a slightly more indie sound to it.

Funnily enough, I have a friend at the station and when Be The One was first taking off he said "it is slightly more alternative sounding for Capital, so we need to see if it takes off first", so I don't think Steve is that far off, even though it's been a big hit now, there's no way that's the reason they took it off the playlist.

I stand by my point that there are elements of her music that are indie and she is nowhere near as pop as other female artists(which is good thing imo)!

For example Be the One could pass as a Haim track for instance!

Ouch at Guetta.

He's really underperformed as of late with almost everything he's released!

He could probably get another hit if he collaborates with someone who's relevant to today rather than Nicki Minaj!

Guetta's done OK recently I think, he doesn't seem to be an artist who does all that well in the OA/OS era but the likes of Bang My Head, This One's For You and Shed a Light were all pretty decent-sized hits, he's just not quite as huge as he once was.
It's not the OA/OS era that is the problem (many of his big hits were released that way; Titanium etc.), just that he isn't adapting well to current trends.

his cover of Would I Lie To You

oh my how bad was that one

Four very welcome adds there - especially for Disciples, hopefully it can help it climb into the Spotify top 50 over time. Also great to see J HUS get an add, top 40 next week maybe?

As if J Hus had been playlisted by Capital! I wonder if they'll actually play it...

J Hus could be for UK rap what Stormzy has been for grime... that crossover star.

J Hus is on the nighttime playlist for now I hear but obviously it can be moved up!
