Calvin and Ellie not exactly working 'miracles' with this hefty slab of mid

Dancing In The Dark we stan though

Free tries to be an anthem but falls flat. Very disappointing effort by Calvin and Ellie after the incredible Miracle.

Biography

When singer-songwriter Billie Eilish feels something new, the first thing she does is take out her phone and write it down. “You can write anything,” she told Apple Music in an interview for the Up Next series. “You can say the truth, and you can not tell anyone that it’s the truth—you can just write it, and it’ll be yours.” Raised and homeschooled in Los Angeles by actor/musician parents, Eilish (born Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell in 2001) started writing songs when she was around 11, exploring a strain of melancholy, minimal, and slightly surrealistic pop influenced as much by Lana Del Rey as the radical honesty of rappers like Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. Writing and recording with her brother—and producer—FINNEAS at their parents’ house, Eilish released dont smile at me in 2017, followed by an ever-evolving series of singles—a prime example of the fact that, in the streaming era, artists are now free to move directly from their bedrooms into the spotlight. Hardly two years later, she’d released the Grammys-slaying WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP WHERE DO WE GO?, an experimental-pop opus that explored mental health and all manner of sleep phenomena, totally upending the notions of what constitutes pop music in 2020. (She also won the inaugural Apple Music Award for Global Artist of the Year.) Despite the attention, Eilish is doing her best to stake out a space of freedom and fluidity, expanding her range of collaborators (Vince Staples, Khalid) and dodging easy definition. “If people think I have a sound, if people are like, ‘Oh yeah, her sound is this,’ if someone asks you what my sound is and you have an answer for them—you’re wrong,” she said. “Instead of trying to find a sound, when I want to make something and when I have an idea of what I want to make, I’m just going to make that.” Her third album, Happier Than Ever, which found her charting a path of self-discovery, arrived in 2021. The following year, she performed an Apple Music Live session at London’s O2 Arena. - Apple Music

Biography

In an Apple Music interview from mid-2020, The Kid LAROI reminisced about the short but formative time he spent in LA living with the late emo rapper Juice WRLD. They’d hang out all day, bonding, making music, seeing friends, whatever. People always coming and going, never a dull moment. Sometimes, Juice would wake LAROI up in the middle of the night, wild with excitement about a track LAROI had to put a verse on. Other mornings, LAROI would wake up to his and Juice’s managers saying it was time to pack up and head to Texas. Like, now. He was 15, 16 years old. “I’d never experienced anything like that,” he said. “Especially coming from Australia, where everything is kind of like its own bubble.” Not that 15-year-olds outside Australia would be used to it either. But such is the meteoric ascent of a talented young rapper circa 2020. Born Charlton Howard in 2003, LAROI—whose name is a reference to the Kamilaroi Indigenous nation, in which he has family roots—grew up in the suburbs of Sydney, and began to work on music when he was a pre-teen. Like Juice WRLD, Post Malone or even Lil Peep, LAROI’s key tracks—“ALWAYS DO”, “TRAGIC” and the Juice WRLD collaboration “GO”—blend ultra-melodic trap with shades of alternative rock and classic pop, a fusion that has put him on the front burner of pop-rap. His first album, F*CK LOVE, hit the Top 10 before he turned 18. - Apple Music

A confusing skip for Billie when it's a new entry but this is becoming irritatingly regular for the chart now.

Laroi getting a play :cheer: on the day NIGHTS LIKE THIS PT 2 comes out too *.*

Well done to Calvin/Ellie. It's already better than expected. Would've definitely performed better had Calvin's collab with Miley never been teased.

Biography

Hanumankind, whose real name is Sooraj Cherukat, has captured attention not just for his unique style but also for blending influences from his formative years in Texas with his Malayalam roots. The fusion of global and desi elements in the music video for ‘Big Dawgs’ is receiving widespread acclaim from all over the world. Initially mistaken for a Western rapper, Hanumankind has surprised fans with his Malayalam origins and innovative approach. The official caption of ‘Big Dawgs’ reads, "Pushing culture baby, got that product you can't measure," highlighting the track’s bold and influential message. Written, sung, and performed by Hanumankind, the song features a collaboration with Kalmi and has become a hit within the international hip-hop community. The music video, shot in the coastal district of Ponnani, Kerala, offers a raw and energetic visual experience. With its South American-inspired vibes, the video incorporates high-energy drumbeats and gritty visuals that capture a desi swagger combined with explosive punk energy. The adrenaline-pumping scenes, fast paced editing which is similar to western rap songs, and vibrant cinematography make ‘Big Dawgs’ a standout piece that is quickly becoming Instagram-worthy. The thoughtful lyrics also add up to the beauty of 'Big Dawgs'. Meanwhile, Hanumankind has provided the vocals and lyrics of the track 'The Last Dance' from the Fahadh Faasil starrer 'Aavesham'. The music was composed by Sushin Shyam. - India Times

WAIT A MINUTE! :cheeseblock:
“Wildflower” is gorgeous (as is every single track on the album really). Nice for Billie getting a 4th Top 40 from it!
