I get the impression it’ll be a hit that stalls around #3 on charts but linger around for a long time.

I still maintain this stance (and I’m looking to be right oop).

UK sales to date

Week 1: 27,333 (#7)

Week 2: 34,128 (#7)

Week 3: 34,194 (#7)

Week 4: 37,039 (#6)

Week 5: 36,013 (#5)

Total: 168,707

Silver certification next week probably!

New peak :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

So this is now her third UK #5 (if this is to remain its peak). I still think we could push for top 3 though.

We’ve seen some new Spotify peaks this week for the UK so hopefully it’s another strong week and it at least remains top 5. It’s still a little bit frustrating as silly as that sounds that it’s pulling such huge numbers WW but hasn’t yet made the UK #1 which is a major market for both Bruno and Gaga. However I didn’t expect anywhere near the level of global streams it’s getting before its debut and it’s still not fully peaked yet so I’m here for the long run this seems to be getting

Almost the same run as Soulmates by Natasha B!!

Can someone explain to me the ACR rule, and when DWAS goes on it if it continues its projectory?

And whether or not it has a chance to even go #2 (aka. when does Sabrina go onto ACR as I’m aware she refreshed her cycle today).

So basically once a song goes into its 7th charting week, I believe it is then it begins to decline in sales for the next three weeks it will move to ACR for chart purposes.

You can dodge ACR by having an increase within sales (so Chappell for example has dodged it with a boost as she’s actually been on a UK tour this week and had promo. Die With A Smile could potentially escape it from press from Joker possibly (I mean it won’t do it any harm right). This week I don’t think bares a difference to ACR but it’s from next week onwards where we can try and get increases to delay the ACR status!

Sabrina’s Espresso and PPP were also both on ACR but they moved back to SCR because they increased when the album dropped so you potentially go back to SCR. I think Stupid Love actually had this although it didn’t boost it far enough for the top regions (but we did get extra weeks top 40 which was a win).

If Sabrina’s sales decline from next week onwards, and Gaga/Bruno continues to also decline which would go ACR first? I’m trying to work out that if Sabrina gets a move on and drops that’s when DWAS will get a chance to benefit and climb up the chart. Otherwise I think it’ll be doomed to move any higher (unless sudden press makes it skyrocket).

I don't know why you keep insisting on making this random and nonsensical comparison, but let's take a look...

Soulmate: 7-10-11-15-19

Die With a Smile: 7-7-7-6-5...

Unsure on Sabrina’s acr status but if either track did increase then it’s back to waiting 3 weeks before ACR takes over.

However these we’re the sales for this weeks top 5 on SCR (we’re so close top 3 that I think a physical push could do it if streaming stagnates) the US are actually getting a vinyl for this what ships on 4th October but no news for UK yet but if we get that I think it may do something to help out (the vinyl also has an instrumental which could help). It’s hard to believe this is all just on one version but if they were to play the game and drop the instrumental or sped up version etc we could push for new peaks (part of me hopes the is the plan for week 7 though  ).

01 58,352 Sabrina Carpenter - Taste [673 downloads, 57,679 streaming]

02 44,896 Chappell Roan - Good Luck, Babe!

03 41,828 Sabrina Carpenter - Espresso

04 38,355 Sabrina Carpenter - Please Please Please

05 36,013 Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars - Die With a Smile

Fantastic, thank you for that detailed explanation!

I hope we get an official event performance of this song to boost publicity!
