BBC Radio 1 Most Played 2025 2026 has arrived and get what else has come with it? You guessed it! The annual review of the most played songs and artists on BBC Radio 1 during 2025. As usual, I used

  • For anybody interested, the Official Chart of the Year will be happening this year on Boxing Day from 2-6pm. It is with Dan Draper this year who I think is a new name to the chart.

  • I wonder if there may be a popular website consisting of some kind of engine that you can use to search and find the answer to that x

I have really enjoyed listening to the Anthems station this week. Having brand new shows has absolutely revitalised things and it's nice having a regular rotation of Lauren, Chelsea and Luke too. Lauren just IS Radio 1 Anthems for me so I'm glad they've kept inviting her back to host. Matt Hallsworth is also back at the end of the month.

I'll be glad of the new Pop Anthems to start next week to break up the day as still hearing Dean is a little odd 😂

Only a couple of niggles really:

They need to ditch the Chillout Anthems repeats for good. Either do some new ones or find something else to go out. I know it's only on at midnight but I listened to all of them when they were on originally! A casual listener isn't going to care I guess.

The 8pm slot could do with a refresh too and some new 'My Radio 1 Anthems'/'100 Greatest' countdowns. Fatboy Slim was the last one in April.

restarting chillout would be a good idea, since we already have Workout and Dance anthems, we don't need dance party starters on main radio 1. The 8pm slot on the anthems timeline could just go to dance.

I feel like they could go 2 ways tho if they don't want to overload on dance; The first is bringing in anthems inspired by what’s played on 1Xtra, probably titled “Urban Anthems”. They love to highlight 1xtra on the main station but outside of regular anthems it is ABSENT from the anthems stream. Another one would be Indie anthems inspired by 6music. We don't see Radio 6 mentioned a lot on the main station despite it having a pretty solid playlist. This would probably be titled “Indie Anthems”. Both would be nice additions to prevent dance music cluttering everything up.

Billie Eilish's No Time to Die has featured a fair bit on Anthems recently. I know they dumped it pretty quickly at the start of the pandemic because of the title/nature of the track but they didn't ever add it again so it seems odd to call it an 'anthem'.

oh yea that one is in a very fun anthems mix! Love it paired with Blue Jeans (Lana Del Rey) and Oh My God (Mark/Lily).

Pop anthems launched today, with Mollie being it’s new permanent presenter! But omg not them starting it back up with Olivia Rodrigo - 1 step forward, 3 steps back 😭. New mixes are def coming now then wooo

It was a no1 hit though so makes sense.

but then if its dependent on charts how far does the line blur between radio 1 anthems and just the official uk singles chart anthems

What’s the difference? Apart from non top 40 songs that have become huge like say ‘Summer of 69’ or ‘Christmas Wrapping’ (understand they aren’t R1 songs for the most apart, apart from the 4/5 plays the latter gets each Dec)!

the case of No Time To Die is redundant, i’d consider it a radio 1 anthem to begin with even if it was pulled quite quickly.

But my point is if it’s so dependent on the songs that chart well, what would be the point of it being radio 1 anthems.

I don’t think they’re taking the name that literally to be honest.

It’s just a show for them to play music from previous years, whether it was on their playlist or not.
