I know this is old but I came across some vids of her singing it and I'm not a big fan of Robbie but love this song he did. In my opinion she completely murdered the song, her voice sounds strained:

It's an awful version imo :( Then again, Robbie's version is so iconic it would be hard for anyone to do a better version...

tbh with jessica..shes like britney she strains her voice sometimes and sounds constipated...when she dont try shes much better. if you listen im gonna love you forever her voice sounds a lot better...and that was at the start of her career.

The annoying thing about this is that when someone on the American Idol auditions sang Angels, it was referred to as the Jessica Simpson song :angry:

 

I love it. IMO - much better than the drab original.

The reason why english/european people hate jessica's version so much is because they are use to the way in which robbie sings it.. exactly why i don't like jessica's version.. the breathyness is annoying in it..i much prefer her video to robbies and she could sing it the same live where as robbie can't sing his version good live. Also they will obv call it a jessica simpson song on american idol because he isn't known there.

I don't think it's terrible, she just shoudln't of sung Angels, it's cause Angels is like the UK Anthem, and Jessica shouldn't of been aloud to even touch it -_-

You can't be serious? :lol: When Robbie performs 'Angels' live it is a million times better than on cd. It is one of the best live songs there is. When I heard Jessica sing it at the MTV awards a few years ago I felt the urge to throw something at the tv. It was painful to listen to imo. -_-

 

Here is Robbie performing Angels from his Knebworth gig. It is much better than on cd imo. ^_^
