Bur because of it being duos, as long as everyone voted, I wouldn't apply deductions

I always got the impression that the duos aspect was just deciding on a theme for each pair and then it'd be a normal contest after that. I didn't expect that we would not be allowed to vote for our partner but I guess I understand the rationale. is it only me who thought we weren't supposed to actually discuss our entries with our partner at all? oop xx

As I understood it, the purpose of being a collaborative contest is that you'd want to send each other possible options while deciding on a theme etc, scope things out together, see if each other were definitely thinking along the same lines of your chosen theme, to ensure that there was more than a tenuous link between the two. I figured you'd have had to have at least heard each other's songs beforehand.

 

So I do understand not being able to vote for our partner because clearly we'd have been biased towards them if we had already heard, and probably enjoyed and actively encouraged somebody to send something. And so it follows because I'd have given Iz 12, and I'm sure others would have scored their partners entries very high too.

Not voting for each others songs makes sense if the points are combined but not really if it is just as individuals imo

Agreed! Not even saying it because we won, but because it just makes sense to combine the scores in duos! Avoid deductions if everyone votes, so as not to penalise the other partner, and split the duo if one half doesn't vote, and there you go
