Greczula had some cool staging and it is a catchy song. Nice to see that already, two complete Melfest newbies have gone direkt (last year it was only Jacqline)

Don't find those results too disagreeable, at least Dolly Style could still sneak the final via AC.

  • Adding onto what's been said already, I think there's a sliding scale between "novelty" and "camp" where at one end you've got those late 00s entries where people had stopped caring/treated the whole

  • Yeah I agree and at the core of it, Eurovision should be fun! Imagine if it was all songs like Revolution or just a load of ballads, obviously some of the ballads are great, there’s some great pop son

  • I don’t understand such a polarising response to this song. It’s always been a popularity contest and a SHOW where countries chase trends and try to one up the other. Nothing changed, it just became a

I wonder why producers have mixed up running orders this year..

Usually it’s the song performed last that wins the semi. This year the winners have been songs 3,3 and 1.

This was the weakest heat so far I found. Malou and Dolly Style were the only two keepers for me, so glad at least one of them got through but Malou was robbed (not totally unsurprisingly).

That said, I didn't hate the qualifiers by any means. Greczula provided something different to what we usually get in Melfest, if something of a Queen pastiche, and Annika's song was a step up from last year if still pretty bland. I didn't hate either of the other songs that lost out either but neither were a loss.

My ratings:

Life Again (7.5+/10)

Believe Me (7/10)

Teardrops (6/10)

24K Gold (5/10)

Rädda mig (5/10)

Yihaa (4/10)

okay not as meh as heat 2, and i kinda dig life again actually. but wtf is yihaa 😭

I think this week's heat is my favourite so far in that I like all six songs to some extent.

Revolution is not really that, but I like Måns and his music, I have always loved Heroes, and as generic as this track is, I know I'll have it on repeat. I don't think it's a Eurovision winner as I couldn't see it getting a particularly huge televote at Eurovision, but no doubt it will ease to victory here. And I do think it's a well produced, instant Scandipop song with an anthemic sound.

KAJ's song I really like, very infectious and super catchy, I hope this goes to the final! It's the big party track the final is currently missing.

Vicious is way better than I expected from Andreas - I love Alcazar but don't often go for his solo stuff, but this is very Dua Lipa, some really slick and sharp production with a great chorus.

Tennessee Tears have brought a really quite strong country song, I wouldn't rule this out going to the final, or at least going to the second chance round.

I like AmenA and Ella's tracks too - although they sound way less competitive than the other four, but are fine for my playlist.

Predictions:

DTF: Måns, KAJ

Second chance: Tennessee Tears

Out: Andreas (I think Måns probably eats up the male pop vote sadly, and the older audiences might be more likely to go for him or Tennessee Tears), AmenA, Ella

Very clearly winning Melfest and I am not ruling this out for taking the crown in Basel - as a whole package I think this is the most likely to be able to score the 500ish points needed across both juries and televotes of anything that's been released as of tonight. To make the obvious comparison, Heroes wasn't a nailed on definite winner until the live performance brought it all together and I think there could be a similar dynamic going on here.

Yeah I wasn't really sold on the song without the performance but of course he sold the hell out of it, and the final 45 seconds is more winnery than anything else I've seen this year, including Erika as I'm not sure how big her jury potential is.

I'm not convinced it will be able to command a televote score much above 150-170, so does depend if it's a full on jury love in like with Tattoo and The Code, as to whether this can reach as high as 500.

As for Melodifestivalen, it's completely over, everyone else can go home.

Quite enjoying Revolution! :music:

Klara has climbed to No.1 in Sweden which is nice for her - she’d have never had the chance if all of the finalists were released simultaneously as they always have been before. Dolly Style new at No.5 and Meira at No.6, above all of the other finalists so far… and Greczula at No.9.

I’d expect Måns and Kaj to enter in the top two in the next chart.

we really are getting a Sweden-Finland 1-2 with a returning Swedish winner again are we *_* if I had a nickel etc.
I feel like Revolution is very “almost winner”, like I just don’t think it’s fully there, but given it’s Sweden and the performance will be top tier, it probably will win the entire Eurovision at this point. Melfest at least is an absolute given and there’s no way this isn’t top 3 at Eurovision.
can already see myself cheering on KAJ with all my heart in the final and getting crushed by Sweden's incessant need to send boring derivative crap like 'Revolution' each and every year.
Dolly need to go to Wurovision!! What an bop and totally different to the sanitised, safe, Swedish pop that's been sent for 2 decades now. But inagine of that gets sent vs UK's mor country song oop

I havent been as invested in a Melfest entry as I have Bara Bada Bastu since Bulletproof, it would be especially iconic for a very Swedish song in Swedish to beat the most generic mediocrity from Måns but I doubt it sadly.

It’s just so catchy and so much fun!!!
