It's 3 weeks on top Reve as Saturn Return defeats all oncomers, the next challenge looking to be Kylie Minogue - either My Oh My at 3 or Edge Of Saturday Night at 10, with various collaborators, or perhaps Beach Weather at 4 with High In Low Places. I've lost count of Kylie's top 10's, one day I will get organised with a complete database but don't hold your breath just yet. The Black Keys though, have a second in a row and a fourth in total. Kim Wilde leaps into the top 20 for the first time in 4 years and extends her run of chart entries to 43 years. Brother Ricky (who is usually behind all she does) can claim 52 years - and he's younger than Kim!

 

Pet Shop Boys' latest B side leaps into the top 40 as Feel resurges now it's out as a single, and the first of 5 new entries debuts at 59 for Good Neighbours second chart entry, Bloom. Levitation Room I've never heard of in my life, and the track new at 63, Ooh Child, was used over the closing titles of a film I watched this week - it's pretty good so I googled, turns out it's a few years old, but very tuneful in the chorus. Shaznay grabs her 4th track off her current album, as Got To Let Go sneaks in at 73, newcomer Gigi Perez drops in at 74, and Oasis re-chart Champagne Supernova ahead of their tour dates, as it's a track that never charted much before for me.

Hi John, I gave the Kim Wilde song a listen after it appeared in your chart and it's really good! Not unlike The Killers of 'When You Were Young' with more synth. On the subject of which I do like 'Bright Lights' even now they've ditched the synths again, although it sounds more Steinman than Springsteen. Happy to see new peaks too for 'Starburster', 'Die With A Smile' and 'Angel Of Satisfaction', as well as 'Ecstasy' still around and Vintage Culture having a long top 40 run too!

Busy as always here, ta, Back To The Future musical last saturday in London, and in London again tonight, I barely have time to do all my charts :lol: Hope all is fab with you! Glad you are liking the Reve track, it's the hottest new track around for me still and I'm glad Leww entered it into BJSC or I'd never have heard it! The Blessed Madonna tracks that hit vs the ones that flop is just bizarre - they are completely arse-over-tit! I can only presume that more-traditional banging dance tunes don't get streamed these days, they have to be autotuned and few hooks :teresa:

 

Loreen still has legs for me, she really won Eurovision 2024 too! :lol: Kim Wilde on Radio 2 In The Park along with Pet Shop Boys and others getting plays, quite rightly. Trail Of Destruction is more Never Trust A Stranger/ You Keep Me Hangin' On top-notch Kim-era-sounding. Only 3 Oasis top 10's in the 90's! Really not a fan then! I liked them more at the time than I do these days - partly from overplay of their key tracks I think, they've never really gone away so they don't sound fresh to me, so I prefer the lesser-know tracks to listen to - but Whatever, Wonderwall, Dont Look Back In Anger were the chart-toppers for me, and later The Importance Of Being Idle. Noel Gallagher's solo stuff is more varied, so I'd choose that to listen to than Oasis hits.

Thanks for dropping in! Yes, Kim is fab, reminds me of her Never Trust A Stranger 80's epic track, but I can see the Killers vibe to it too. Bright Lights is on radio 2 right now as I type this, and it very much is in the Steinman/Springsteen motif, Meatloaf could easily have put it on Bat Out Of Hell and Springsteen followed Born To Run on a track listing without sounding out of place. Ecstasy is such a great track, still banging played loud as it should be! :lol:
