England have appointed all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt as their new captain.

Sciver-Brunt, 32, replaces Heather Knight who spent nine years in the role.

She becomes just the fourth permanent England women's captain since 2000.

That's a great effort by Middlesex to chase down 366 to win their match against Kent, with just one over and two wickets to spare. Four day county cricket at its best.

Australia bowler Mitchell Starc will not return to the Indian Premier League when it resumes on Saturday.

Starc, 35, has played in all 11 matches for Delhi Capitals, who remain in contention for the play-offs, but will not travel back to India, with Australia's World Test Championship final to follow next month against South Africa at Lord's.

Fellow quick Josh Hazlewood is nursing a shoulder issue in Australia and a decision is yet to be made whether he will return to play for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

England: Sophie Ecclestone out of first Charlotte Edwards squad - BBC Sport

The squads have been named for the first series under Charlotte Edwards. Ecclestone seems to be playing well domestically, in the early stages of a managed return? First T20 on the 21st May. Not surprised at the inclusion of Emma Lamb, she seems to be in great form so far this season. She may well move from being a part-time bowler to being a regular. Seems to have acquired a few wickets as well in both formats. Anyway, she seems to be set on giving the England management something to think about...

Currently 307-1 in their first innings, England against Zimbabwe in the First Test they have played against each other in England since 2003.

Benjamin Bennett, 21, scores Zimbabwe's fastest Test century in 97 balls. For England they declared on 565-5 in their first innings. For Zimbabwe, they are 210-5 at tea.

England women have won their first series under the new coach and captain. One more game for a clean sweep. Emily Arlott has picked up 4 wickets in the two games so far (one on her debut). Sophia Dunkley has reached 1,000 T20 international runs and her highest T20 international score so far.

Sikandar Raza was playing in that test match for Zimbabwe yesterday. He flew straight out to Lahore and has just hit the winning runs in the Pakistan Super League final, quite extraordinary. Obviously, if the test had gone to a fourth day, it would not have been possible.

South Africa are currently in a strong position against Australia in the World Test Championship final.

England women have announced the squad for the T20s against India. The ODI squad will be announced later.

England's T20 squad to face India: Nat Sciver-Brunt (captain), Em Arlott, Tammy Beaumont, Lauren Bell, Alice Capsey, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Lauren Filer, Amy Jones, Paige Scholfield, Linsey Smith, Danni Wyatt-Hodge, Issy Wong.

Sophie Ecclestone has returned at the expense of Sarah Glenn. I am hoping Paige will get a chance to shine with the senior squad. She was in the squad last time, but didn't feature. I was impressed a couple of seasons ago in the Hundred.
