Consequence lists Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” as the 2nd best song of 2025 so far: “For the last decade, Lady Gaga has asserted herself as an actress. She’s always toyed with scale and theatricality,

This is going to do worse than Disease on the charts... Did someone hit her on the head? There must be at least 5 songs better than this one on the album.
I don't think she'll drop a fourth single just a month after the third, which makes me worried. This song should be a promotional single at most and not an official one.

Zombieboy sounds more commercially driven, but Abracadabra sounds what her fanbase want from her.

I’m ecstatic about Abracadabra, but I’m also conscious that (from the small snippet of it), it won’t be a commercial hit for her.

Could it be she’s still using DWAS as her main commercial platform, and waiting for it to die down (if it ever will) before unleashing Single #4 for the mass public to buy into again?

So she must already know that it won't be a hit. The only artist who gets hits with her fan base alone is Taylor. She can't help herself... She had to release something more commercial after Disease's lukewarm performance, not something even more risky.

And then y'all don't understand why she doesn't get solo hits like she used to... When she releases solo stuff, it's songs like 911, Disease, Perfect Illusion and this one now... GP will never play songs like that and if she depends on her fan base alone to get hits, she's already on the gallows. Making a mistake once is tolerable but continuing to do that is stupid. She seems to have lost her touch when it comes to picking solo singles.

Her "yes-man" and you are also guilty of this because y'all initially pretend to support her because she is mOtHeRiNg with these non-commercial songs and then turn your back on her solo stuff and let yourselves be swayed by the haters' narrative. Step out of your bubble a little and see the truth.

I’m all for Gaga releasing commercial smashes, but sonically from what I heard I know I’ll be loving Abracadabra and I’m only expressing my early adoration for it.

Do I want Gaga to release a more softer ‘dark’ pop song like Garden of Eden or Zombieboy? Absolutely. Do I also think Gaga have a horrible habit of picking wrong single choices in the past? Absolutely as well. I’m beyond the point of even reasoning with what she chooses as a single as I know she ends up picking what she likes best and not necessary what’s most commercial for her (I spent far too many years scratching my head as to why she didn’t release the likes of Dance in the Dark, Gypsy etc as singles). She never listens to the fans (as evident with the whole ‘Government Hooker’ scenario as specified in her recent interview), I’ve just become to accustomed to her habits.

I’m at the point where I’m happy if she releases anything as a single and perform it live given how little she likes to do televised performances. Anything for me is a bonus these days!

That's the problem. She sees the reaction of some fans about a certain song that she intends to release as a single in the future and thinks that this is the opinion of the entire fan base/gp and the right move for her career. Then she releases it and it tanks. It's an endless loop.

15 fans won't keep any song on the charts based solely on their streams and opinions, she needs the masses to get a hit, DWAS is proof of that.

I see it's hard for some to understand that Gaga can balance art AND charts.

Zombie boy is right there, Garden of Eden is right there, (another commercial song from the album) is right there to do the job, instead she's going to make her record company spend tons of money to air a video for a song doomed to flop during the Grammys break.

It's her life and it's her career, she probably has a reason for wanting to release this 🤷‍♂️

It's also probably a good idea to wait for the full thing to get here before writing it off and giving yourself a hernia over a hypothetical scenario. Least of all because you're comparing it against a brief clip of one song which is barely heard in the background of a music video, and another which exists only in rough demo form and may be wildly different.

We haven't heard any of these songs, let's wait until we hear them to judge :P

Also... she is a global megastar and has been for decades now proving herself over and over again - let her do what she wants! That's how it has always been with Gaga and one of the reasons she's still going.

Abracadabra might also be a big tiktok hit, if not gp (=radio) friendly, who knows.

Anyway, this is not out in any part of the world yet, so I guess it will indeed be a Sunday release.

Remember, she wanted to release Venus and Steps lite cheese Judas for the fans!! She always gets it wrong.

OMFG ... THIS!!! She would have been Beyonce big with the right singles choices throughout her career. But she never does.
