It's a first number one for Sam Fender as his exciting People Watching edges out The Osmonds, but in a busy chart Teddy Swims grabs his first top 10 at 5 with Hammer To The Heart off his new album, and his 4th entry in 12 months. Tavares replace themselves in the top 10 with the Saturday Night Fever disco classic, second time around 47 years on. Good neighbours make it a hat-trick of top 10's with Ripple up to 8, and Kygo and OneRepublic add to their tallies: 9 top 10's for Ryan, including a number one, and a 4th for Kygo, his first in 9 years.

 

Chappell Roan meanwhile is on a 4th top 20 as Pink Pony Club leaps up, and Sparks are back with a new album, dropping the lead single, Do Things My Own Way, which they have always done, as edgy and catchy as ever 51 years of charting and still fresh as a daisy. Marianne Faithful passed away this week, with her two greatest records entering in tribute, As Tears Go By - her Jagger/Richard 60's gem, and the very raw synth 1979 cover of Dr Hook's Ballad Of Lucy Jordan, still a recovering addict at the time after a period of homelessness.

 

Kim Wilde has a new album out, Closer, and Lighthouse is a light, melodic cherry-pick, and she's doing live gigs and sill sounding fab. Shaboozey's follow-up finally charts, it's pretty catchy, Sam Fender gets his 3rd as well as number one, and The Knocks return with Dragonette.

Thanks for the picks! :dance: I was late into 17 Going Under, it took a live cover by Rebecca Ferguson to make me see what a great song it was, and even this one took me a while. I think his records tend to be growers! Ooh glad you like Glass Animals, it's very different, and takes a couple of listens, but it's worth it!

 

Yes a new The Knocks/Dragonette track, oddly they both have had a solo top 10 for me 8 years back, but not together - Darth Vader 2017 Dragonette, Classic The Knocks with Powers also 2017 - then nothing much apart from guest collabs! Meghan is always fun, I have a lot of time for her, over a dozen charted tracks but only one top 10 - Mother in 2023!
