May 22May 22 I think the public vote for UK, Switzerland and Denmark was appalling, although sadly I wasn’t surprised with the first two.Denmark however, Jesus Christ. Silal gave a polished performance, sounded great, looked great and had a great pop tune. And still only 2 points! Again I’d be interested to know if she’d have gotten any more points if you took Israel/Ukraine out - as I don’t think either would have scored that many public points without current conflicts
May 22May 22 Looks to me like excluding Ukraine and Israel would have increased their televoting haul from 2 to… 3. Iceland who gave them their 2 didn’t point Ukraine anyway and nobody had them 11th or 12th as far as I can see. In fact most had them towards the bottom. This was very much one that went down a storm in the Euroclub and with the fans but didn’t stand out in the show for casual viewers. Even the gay guys I was watching with didn’t rate it, whereas they loved Malta and the drama around that entry.
May 22May 22 This is a MoR entry on a stronger side that didn’t stand a chance against many of the more memorable and intricate entries this year both in terms of the sound and staging. 7/10 won’t give many points unfortunately. That’s why I was skeptical about her advancing to the final initially but the quality of the semis was really bad this year so it was an easier task than getting televoters attention in the final against ALL the juggernaut divas (Finland, Malta, Poland, Greece, France, Albania) with a lot more hype. Not to mention the rest of the contenders.
May 22May 22 Author she also did a lot of legwork on social media and staging so props to her for the hard work
