With MAYHEM firmly in our hands now and an understanding of the content of it in relation to its title, let's look back at the names of Gaga's projects.

Rank the album names from favourite to least favourite - think about how the names reflect the content of the albums and what power they have for you now as the title of each project.

Remember you are ranking the TITLE of each album not the MUSIC

The Fame

The Fame Monster

Born This Way

ARTPOP

Joanne

Chromatica

Harlequin

MAYHEM

I'm going to have a think about this more thoroughly but ARTPOP is really a clever title and fits that era so well - the subversion of the normal way of doing things

(and not forgetting the abbreviation she created: ARTISTIC REVOLUTION THROUGH the POTENTIAL OF POP gaga)

  1. ARTPOP

  2. The Fame Monster

  3. The Fame

  4. Harlequin

  5. Born This Way

  6. Chromatica

  7. MAYHEM

  8. Joanne

I love the duality of The Fame and The Fame Monster! ARTPOP is clever and has aged well as a title. Harlequin is perfect for what the album and its associated film represent. A mixed bag!

They’re all quite striking as titles but if I was to rank on titles alone I think I’d say

  1. The Fame Monster

  2. The Fame

  3. Born This Way

  4. MAYHEM

  5. ARTPOP

  6. Harlequin

  7. Chromatica

  8. Joanne

There’s not an awful lot in it really. The Fame Monster I think is so striking especially that early within her career and the music fully encuplates both The Fame and Monster aspects (especially as a UK Gaga stan who sees it as a deluxe).

Joanne isn’t a bad title and I see why it was chosen BUT titles wise from what’s on the album I think Diamond Heart or Angel Down are even more striking. Sinners Prayer too actually!

Oh maybe another idea is to rename her albums with another track on that album😅

I’ve always thought what the titles would be if she went with a different name for each & used a track title for all albums.

Beautiful, Dirty, Rich or Starstruck (The Fame)

So Happy I Could Die or Monster (The Fame Monster)

Electric Chapel or Americano (Born This Way)

Aura or Fashion! (ArtPop)

Diamond Heart or Sinner’s Prayer (Joanne)

Enigma or Replay (Chromatica)

Perfect Celebrity or The Beast (Mayhem)
