26 Goddess - Shadows (feat. Ex:re): Always a happy moment when a new Elena Tonra song comes out. I've always found Daughter to be a very powerful group (rendered all the more so upon seeing them front row at a festival several years ago). This new project arranged by drummer Fay Milton (of Savages) is very intriguing, and I look foward to seeing other contributors. A haunting single, this is Fay Milton's first chart appearance while Elena Tonra has appeared X times with Daughter, with "Numbers" (#2) from 2016's 'Not to Disappear', "Burn It Down" (#2) from 2017's 'Music from Before the Storm', and "Be On Your Way" (#1 for 2 weeks) and "Swim Back" (#2) from 2023's 'Stereo Mind Game'; and once with the Ex:re moniker with "Crushing" (#1 in spring 2019).

27 Marika Hackman - Skin (feat. Laura Marling): A combination from two of my favourite singer-songwriters going today. A rerecording of one of Hackman's first singles from 'We Slept at Last', and joining forces with the incomparable Laura Marling, this spare and intimate reworking . This is Hackman's third charting song after "No Caffeine" (#6) and "Slime" (#1 for 4 weeks) from 2024's 'Big Sigh'. This is also Marling's third chart appearance, after "Wild Fire" (#16) and "Held Down" (#5).

29 Rachel Chinouriri - Can We Talk About Isaac?: Absolute banger of a single. I've enjoyed what I've heard of her material so far but she was always just on the fringes of the charts. "Can We Talk About Isaac?" -- Chinouriri's first charting song, is rapidly growing on me.

30 Men I Trust - I Come With Mud: A change in perspective from the jazzy Montrealers, who seem to have embraced a more folkish bent recently. This song, the first track on their newly-released 'Equus Asinus', is very reminiscent of the Khruangbin/Leon Bridges collab musically, but still with the spare, dreamy vocals present. The new album will require a few new listens before grabbing me completely, I reckon. This is their sixth charting song, after "Sugar" (#8) from 2021's 'Untourable Album', and non-album singles "Hard to Let Go" (#12), "Billie Toppy" (#1 for 2 weeks), "Ring of Past" (#6), "Husk" (#5),
