According to reports from efestivals.co.uk Arctic Monkeys are set to headline Glatonbury 2007.

 

If all is true then The Killers will headline the Friday and Arctic Monkeys be preceeded by Kasabian to headline Saturday, while the Kaiser Chiefs will play on Sunday before The Who close the festival.

 

So what does everyone think of this then? :o

WOW! Bloody brilliant for them :o and they really deserve it imo! They'll have released their second album by then so that qualifies them for that honour (I remember the Killers turned it down because it was 'too early' not so long ago)

 

I'm pleased with that but would rather they headlined a Reading day as I'm gonna try and go to that :P

Well i'm suprised that The Killers are playing tbh, as I thought they focusing on The V Festival? :unsure:

This is great news for the Arctic Monkeys. 2007 looks like being a big year for the band :yahoo:

I have to say I actually half expected them to headline Glastonbury and it's a brilliant acomplishment for them if it's true. :D Hopefully this will prove to people no matter how much backlash they get for the quality of their 2nd album they can still be hugely sucessful. :)

Smashing Pumpkins are also a very strong rumour for headliners :o and I think Rage Against The Machine are a big possibilty too ^_^

I didn't know that. :o The Leeds and Reading festivals are more metal on the whole so it doesn't really suprise me that they're touted as been headliners. :P

I might be wrong but I thought they were mainstage at V in 2006, that's why I think if they're going to be headlining the likes of Glastonbury then surely they will be on mainstage at V?

I can't really find much on the internet about it so chances are they probably didn't, I don't know which festival I had in mind then. :lol:

Well the organiser of Glasto has let slip that the Arctics will definitley be playing but well I dunno whether they'll be headliners or not. :unsure:

I think it's very likely that they could be headliners seeing as they did have the 2nd biggest selling album of 2006 and their new album is released soon.
