July 25Jul 25 Author Wrexham have made an approach to sign Christian Eriksen. The Championship side have held talks with the player, who is a free agent after leaving Manchester United this summer.
July 26Jul 26 Good post by Henry Winter today:Amorim, Wilcox, Berrada and Manchester United understandably want to generate as much in fees for the remaining members of United’s Unwanted. Antony, Garnacho, Malacia and Sancho have cost United a fortune in fees, wages and/or development. They won’t sell them cheap, Amorim insists. They may have to. United need to defuse the ‘bomb squad’, get them out asap, and cut their losses even if it means paying the price for the club’s past mistakes (and United have never recovered from David Gill leaving, let alone Sir Alex Ferguson). United have to look forward and focus on those Amorim wants to build his 3-4-2-1 around. Amorim is a good manager who deserves backing and has to get his way on this. Rashford has gone, as Amorim wanted, reducing one negative narrative for the club. PSR rules nowadays but United are in a weak position. By making them train alone they’ve immediately damaged their value (and, really, what has poor Malacia done wrong to deserve this treatment, barring injuries?). Buying clubs know United’s issues. So insert substantial sell-ons, and ensure recruitment and remuneration is shrewder in the future. The four also have to accept lower wages to restart their careers as Rashford has done at Barcelona. These aren’t bad players, either. Some of those already offloaded by the club have delivered elsewhere, Wan-Bissaka at West Ham and most spectacularly McTominay at Napoli. Antony shone on loan at Real Betis, Rashford pre-injury on loan at Villa. Rashford has gone but while the rest of the ‘bomb squad’ remains, there will be a cloud over the squad. The four have friends in the squad. It’s a bad look. It could get messier, more posts on instagram, possible leaks from friends to the media as deadline approaches. The clear-out is an expensive process but it needs to be done. Only three weeks to the season. United need to hit the ground running, team settled, noises off silenced, as they have Arsenal, City, Chelsea and Liverpool in their first eight games. United need the four to go forth. Quickly. #MUFC

Quickly. #MUFCFrom what I have read so far, Man Utd actually have a bit of headroom in PSR, the issue is they have no money. So right now they're dancing in the media playing a game of bluff. I don't think any clubs are going to bluff and it genuinely sounds like not many clubs are interested in the players at the prices they have set. What I expect and is far more likely is in 4 weeks time Man Utd will panic, or they will decide to get some cash in they will send Antony on loan again. Garnacho is the big asset, but it is a bit strange nobody wants him. Suspect the price tag is way too high for a club who know United need to sell.I love how Winter states "ensure recruitment and remuneration is shrewder in the future" like no shit sherlock haha. It's why Man Utd need a wage structure in place like Spurs/Liverpool do.. although don't think they can implement that until a few of the other higher earners get loose.

Maybe the penny pinchers at the top now might go away from this strategy, although it does mean you end up shopping ant a tier or two below the other clubs.
July 27Jul 27 13 minutes ago, Steve201 said:They haven’t done bad this summer with Cunha and Mbuemo imo!Yeah they are good players for sure. I'm sure they'd have loved to be signing Gyokores, Wirtz, Etikete, Cherki, Delap etc. though given the chance.I think Cunha will be a really good signing for them, less convinced on Mbuemo.
July 27Jul 27 Cunha will be easy to wind up though so could miss 6 games a season. Not sure about Etikete think he’s a bit of an unknown. And hope Wirz settles in and his knee ligament doesn’t flare up again!
July 28Jul 28 Sesko is a funny one. I think he’s absolutely bang average, but ultimately I think he will end up at Newcastle as I suspect they will end up doing the deal and paying all the extra agents fees.
July 28Jul 28 Yeah he’s not all that at all I’d much rather Newcastle got him. Maybe those guys not being sold yet will save us from splashing out on another not good enough player
July 28Jul 28 I think Sesko is quality. If United come out of the summer with Cunha-Sesko-Mbuemo after coming 16tb last year that’s a good summer for me. He will cost 70+ million!

I don't see what the point is at Man Utd is replacing Hojlund with Sesko. Such a bonkers move. What's mad at the moment is the numbers behind the deal which seem to be coming back in the media. Allegedly the deal was so expensive Arsenal backed out.. there's definitely potential in him, but he could easily end up being worse than Hojlund.

His scoring record is slightly worse, he misses plenty of sitters and needs a good coach to turn the raw ability in to something else. Maybe I'm slightly burned after Nunez!
