  • 'Old Phone' is quite clearly a single, I don't know why there's even a discussion about it!

So Radio 1 awarded Sound Of 2025 to an artist who already had multiple huge hits, skip new entries on the chart show in favour of old familiar stuff, and keep artists on the playlist only because of B

Don’t care whether it’s on here or not ‘Old Phone’ will quietly be dropped in 1/2 weeks, it’s def a grat for me coming so close after the first single. Single 2 will be June and the 3rd will be in Sep

Definitely it's not having "single treatment" in any other way

Radio 1 playlisting is single treatment - classify it however you wish but that's the way it works! It's the only particularly definitive way to tell if something by a notable artist is a single or not.

But radio 1 have playlisted "tracks from.such and such" album before does that make the whole album a single

I think that's quite clearly a different scenario...!

Promo single is such an hilarious term. Ed Sheeran has promo and there is a single already out there why would you need a specific promo single. It’s clearly his second single and it’s probably for his fans who prefer those more slow sad songs from him
