Arctic Monkeys have claimed that they were haunted by the ghost of a young girl while recording their second album.

Frontman Alex Turner revealed that the voice of a spirit has mysteriously appeared on some tracks which were recorded at London's Miloco Studios.

"A young girl named Elsie haunts the chamber and unexplained faint whispers have appeared on the recordings," Alex told Rolling Stone magazine. "There's also a bit of organ that has squeezed onto the master tapes but that's nothing to worry about."

I'm thinking Alex is joking

That's the impression I first got when I read the article, but well I never know whether Alex is joking or not. :(

It sounds very much like it to me  Though Cookie and Helders are usually funnier though :P

Yes Alex does have a very strange sense of humour. I can never tell whether he's joking or not. But you're right Cookie and Helders are more of the jokers.

Alex will be joking.

I wonder if he made that story up as a laugh as it's going to be a concept ghost album maybe?

I dunno whether its made up though tbh.

In Hard-Fi's debut album Rich from the band said that if you listened VERY closely you could hear the noise from Heathrow airport, so I think this whole ghost thing could be true. :P But yeah I doubt it.

Actually Miloco Studios? There has been something about a ghost there for a while now so maybe he isn't joking :o

I had never heard the theory about the airport before, I'll have to have a close listen when I'm very bored one day.

Well according to Rich its true, but he could be lieing I guess. :P

I never knew that! :o I guess it could be true then. :o

I guess all will be revealed when the album is actually released then but you never know when Alex is joking or not.

I think being able to hear the airport actually sounds quite realistic but you would think that they would be able to get rid of that really?

Well Rich doesn't normally joke on stuff, and I do think he's telling the truth on you being able to hear the airport but i'm guessing it will take a lot of VERY close listening to be able to actual hear the planes taking off and landing.

In all honesty I actually don't even think I'm going to bother wasting my time listening closely to Hard-Fi's album. It's obviously not that noticeable because if it was it would have ruined the album and I would have to be really really bored to want to listen for aeroplanes on a CD.

Well if it's making you listen to it then what he's trying to do is obviously working

I've got it but never got into it :( Very disappointing album.

Really? I thought it would have been right up your street, very similar sound to something that TOB could have made. I think that you should maybe try and listen to it a few more times and see if it grows. :)
