Sheezus

Its not me its you

Alright still

No shame

I dont care if im in the minority but Sheezus is a great song

Rihanna, Katy Perry, Beyonce, lorde, Gaga name drops the only one thats fallen hard is Katy Perry it seems

Just on this again, when she's name checking the female singes. I always found it a little odd that she never mentioned Adele, given 21 had been the biggest album in the world the past few years leading up to Sheezus. I know she couldn't include them all though.

It's quite funny because at the time that song was released, it looked like Katy Perry was on the top of her game and Gaga was somewhat on a downward slope. How the tables turn!

There's nothing to suggest Rihanna has had a fall from grace, but I guess the proof will be in the pudding when/if she properly releases music again.

"RiRi isn't scared of Katy Perry's roaring
Queen B's going back to the drawing
Lorde smells blood, yeah, she's about to slay you
Kid ain't one to f*** with when she's only on her debut
We're all watching Gaga, L-O-L-O, ah-ha
Dying for the art so, really, she's a martyr
The second best will never cut it for the divas
Give me that crown, bitch
I wanna be Sheezus"

Dunno whether its as you mentioned or just lyrically they didnt squeeze into the narrative Kelly Clarkson was huge, Taylor had just had a pretty big red era etc

I think it was a bit of both probably. P!nk was another as well, though 2012/13 could be seen as P!nk’s last big era.

It's Not Me, It's You

Alright, Still

West End Girl

No Shame

Sheezus

^ my rank in terms of quality as an overall project, West End Girl has potential to higher but it's early days compared to two classics!

Sheezus has higher highs than No Shame but doesn't quite come together as a full body of work. Hard Out Here and URL Badman are Lily at her very best, I don't even mind Air Balloon but it was a limp single choice, and Our Time wasn't the best single either despite how underrated I think it is. I think the album just lacked a bit of a POV so it's lyrically and sonically directionless.

Every one of her albums has something excellent on, though - she's generally really consistent and is undoubtedly one of my favourite artists, West End Girl has reminded me of how much I adore her music!
