It's 2 weeks on top for Say Hello Wave Goodbye, equalling Tainted Love and Torch's 2 weeks on top for Soft Cell, not to mention 2 Marc Almond Trevor Horn tracks, but Rose Gray rebounds just ahead of Rosalia & co and Orville Peck/Noah Cyrus reaching new peaks. Marshmello add another top 10 to their handful, Ellie Goulding has 3 solo top 10's but also some more dance features so she needs 2 hands to count 'em now. Rob Thomas meanwhile gets a second top 10 of the year to add to his Matchbox 20 and Santana's as he is also well into 2 hands-worth now.

Highest new entry is Mud's 1976 disco romp, Shake It Down, which came over well the other week in concert, with Rob Davies present and correct, where it was rightly introduced with clips of Kylie, Sophie and other dance monsters he went on to write, as the first time he was trying to write a dance smash, his new post-Glam Rock interest. Still a bop! New at 20, having peaked at 2 first time round. Other new entries, Seafret follow-up their top 10 with Cloud at 74, Jonas Brothers plug their Christmas movie with the very catchy Coming Home This Christmas to extend their chart span to 17 years, most of them as grown-ups over the last 7 or 8 years, solo or together. Kenny G tags along for the feature, last troubling my charts in 1987, so that's a rather large 38-year-old Duck broken, and his 3rd in total.

Aerosmith and YUNGBLUD replace themselves in the chart with new track Wild Woman at 84, with added Lainey Wilson who debuted her Heart Like A Truck in my 2023 charts. Not to be confused with Human League's Heart Like A Wheel. Either way it sounds highly medically improbable. That leaves a 3rd track off Richard Ashcroft's new album to debut, Heavy News at 85, holding off potential Xmas songs amongst the next chart, which will come from Gran Canaria, fingers-crossed.

Hope the Xmas build-up is going well! Thanks for the pciks and comments, I am indeed late with sombr, but fully on board now and looking forward to new stuff! Nickelback Nate, as I affectionately refer to his new track, is a great one, it has legs, just not getting bored of it! Hootie & The Blowfish, I bought thatone huge album for the singles - they weren't happening in the UK, and I rather liked Only Wanna Be With You and Hold My hand as they reminded me of Florida theme park holidays 😄I think everyone in the mid90's USA was big on Hootie, they sold albums in bucketloads - there was no way of getting some singles any other way in those days!

Life Of A Showgirl needs ro be an official single I reckon! Thanks for the indepth apprecaition as always! 🤩

Thanks for the wishes on hols and so far its been 3 late nights in a row so I feel jetlagged on top of being actual jetlagged from the 3am airport run eek! My body hates routine being disturbed. Quite sunny a couple of days so far though! And loads of christmas karaoke! Not me, I should add! Yes Jade is being badly done to, when other acts who are a bit samey get such monster success on streaming - it's almost as if people want pop stars to sound the same all the time and those that don't get penalised.....😇

I've been looking for an excuse to re-chart Mud for years, and finally got one from the concert the other week! It was cruelly denied the top spot in 1976 so that has now been rectified! Hooray! Fairytale Of New York was karaoke drunken butchered the other night, and the song still managed to rise above it. The Canaries holiday resorts is PC-free on xmas songs (and they target older folk anyway) so the original version and Glitter got played with a quip - "this one doesnt get radio play in the UK anymore, can't imagine why.." oops!
