If there would be a Male singer award of 2025, Sombr would be one of the top candidates for me. He released several great songs and one of my Top 20 Albums of the year. More from Sombr to follow.

49 Geowulf - Deep End (277 points, peak @ #4)

Geowulf is an Australian dream-pop project formed on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland by Star Kendrick and Toma Banjanin around 2016. Originally a duo who grew up in Noosa and later split their time between London, Berlin, and Gothenburg.

"Deep End" is a beautiful alternative pop song and I am happy that it made #8 in the latest pop song contest here.

48 Jade - FUFN (279 points, peak @ #4)

What a marvelous year for Jade. One of the best albums of the year and so many great songs on it. The reception regarding streams should have been higher, particularly for the single charts. Sacrilege that she did not have a song in the UK Top 10 this year. Candidate for female singer of the year.

47 MK, Chrystal - Dior (282 points, peak @ #3)

grafik.pnggrafik.png

In a year, which will not be famous for its dance music, "Dior" is one of the exceptions reaching #1 in the official UK charts. It was really a long campaign for Mark Kinchen to do so as he already scored Top 10 hits with the Nightcrawlers in 1995. Under his MK alias he already produced club classics such as "Burning" and "Always" in 1991/1992.

Billy Idol is one of the greatest artists of all time - so many great songs such as "Rebel Yell" or "Eyes Without A Face". With 70 years old now he is still releasing great music. "Dream Into It" is a great album and features this beautiful duet with Alison Mosshart.

It is nice to hear Robin Schulz making Tropical House again. "Old Friend" is a beautiful, melancholic dreamy dance song featuring the wondeful voice of Australien singer Cloves. This one of only two German entries in my Top 100.

43 Scowl - Special (295 points, peak @ #1)

Scowl is an American hardcore punk band from Santa Cruz, California, formed in 2019. Fronted by Kat Moss, the band blends abrasive hardcore with elements of punk rock and alternative, earning attention for their raw energy and genre-bending sound. "Special" is a great punk-rocker and one of the harder entries in my Top 100. The video is ace, too.

42 Rachel Chinouriri - 23:42 (299 points, peak @ #3)

grafik.png

grafik.png

Rachel Chinouriri is a British singer-songwriter from London, known for her emotionally candid lyrics and blend of indie pop, alternative, and R&B influences. I believe she is short before her commercial breakthrough placing already one song in the UK Top 50 this year. "23:42" is my favourite from her so far, an absolutely infectious indie pop song.

40 Sienna Spiro - Origami (309 points, peak @ #7)

grafik.png

grafik.png

I discovered Sienna the end of last year. Since then she released hit after hit. I believe she is the artist I mostly listened to in 2025. I was so happy for her that she made it into the UK Top 10 in November. I hope the next year will be fully hers and she will start through like Olivia Dean did this year. Album is on the way - really looking so much forward to it. "Origami" is a real grower, which gets better with each listen. More to come from Sienna later.

First line:

„Watch you on the TV, Driving your Ferrari,

why do you go without me when I’m not next to you“

38 Jade - Before You Break My Heart (319 points. peak @ #3)

Another great song from Jade, who had such a fantastic year with a great album. One of my favourite artists at the moment. This is a great adaption of the Supreme's classic soul song.

First line:

"Stop in the name of love
Before you break my heart
Stop in the name of love
Before you break, break, break, break"

Sofia Camara is a Portuguese‑Canadian pop and R&B singer‑songwriter born on May 21, 2002, who first gained attention posting cover songs on social media before releasing her own emotionally driven pop tracks. I came across her song as recommendation from someone posting on the UK charts website. "Parking Lot" is a fantastic pop ballad. Sofia is definitely someone to watch out in the future.

First line:

"I saw you yesterday, I didn't even say hi
I know you don't deserve that, but I couldn't find the words"

I see the ceiling, while you're looking down at me"
