Another brilliant song from Sienna. The dramaturgy is perfect and her voice is on point.

17 Little Quirks - Honey (418 points, peak @ #1)

Little Quirks are an Australian indie-folk / folk-rock band from the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. Little Quirks formed in 2015 as a family project. The band was founded by sisters Abbey Toole (lead vocals, guitar) and Mia Toole (drums, vocals), together with their cousin Jaymi Toole (mandolin, vocals). From a young age, they performed together as street musicians, playing covers and developing strong three-part vocal harmonies. "Honey" is a catchy indie pop-rock song and was one of my favourite summer hits this summer.

First line

"I cut my hair to say that I had changed
I bought new clothes and tried to change and walk right out to you like I forget you

A week went by and all still felt the same

16 Lola Young - Messy (419 points, peak @ #1)

This song needs no introduction. Carried forward drom 2024, this was the first #1 of the year and I was so happy when "Messy" reached the #1 spot in the UK. Lola is such a unique artist - hope she is at good health now.

First line:

When it was like minus four degrees?

I just really don't wanna hear it right now

15 Lana Del Rey - Henry Come On (424 points, peak @ #1)

Such a beautiful power ballad. Hopefully, Lana's album will land next year and include more stuff like this.

14 Mia Wray - Only Love (427 points, peak @ #1)

Mia Wray (born Mia Isobel Wray-McCann on 28 October 1995) is an Australian singer, songwriter, and musician known for her blend of pop, indie, soul, and folk-influenced music. Originally from Sunrise Beach/Noosa, Queensland, she began making music as a teenager and won the Telstra Road to Discovery talent program in 2011, which helped kick-start her career.

"Only Love" is a beautiful alternative pop song with strong vocals from Mia. There was so much strong stuff coming from Australia this year - behind UK and USA the nation with the third most hits in my charts this year.

First line:

"Oh, you walked right through the door, I could've died
It's like my core was ripped wide open
Turned up to feel the heat, and with your electricity
I was broken"

13 Sabrina Carpenter - Busy Woman (430 points, peak @ #2)

"Busy Woman" came from the deluxe version of "Short N Sweet" and is an infectious pop song. Unfortunately, the songs from her follow-up album "Man's Best Friend" did had no appeal for me. It sounded like a quickly produced sequel to "Short N Sweet", but missing the extra-catchiness. Also, "Man's Best Friend" is one of my favourites for worst album covers of all time. She should have taken more time.

First line:

"I'm so mature, collected and sensible
Except when I get hit with rejection
To turn me down, well, that's just unethical
I'll turn into someone you're scared to know"

12 Jade - Plastic Box (432 points, peak @ #2)

Hi - it is Jade again. From all Jade-songs released this year, "Plastic Box" is my favourite. A brilliant dreamy pop-song.

First line:

I'll just do what I do

11 Sienna Spiro - Maybe (449 points, peak @ #2)

The song that introduced me to Sienna in December 2024. In December 2025 I can say that she among my Top 3 artists of the year together with Sombr and Jade. "Maybe" is a fantastic power ballad, perfectly written to make Sienna's voice shine.

First line:

"All I wanted was to be your hostage
For you to tie me up and never let me leave
If we're honest, it took the longest
Time for you to even notice I was here"

10 Bdrmm - Infinity Peaking (464 points, peak @ #1)

Bdrmm are a dream-pop/shoegaze-band from Hull, England. "Microtonic" is their third album. "Infinity Peaking" is a brilliant shoogaze song from that album.

09 CMAT - Take A Sexy Picture Of Me (478 points, peak @ #3)

Together with "Euro Country" this is my favourite song from her album. An infectious pop anthem - I don't know why this did not go higher in the UK charts than just peaking at #42. This one deserves top 10 at least.

First line:

"Ever since I was a little girl
I only wanted to be sexy
Nine years old, tryna wax my legs with tape
There were some things only I can see
A little spot that can't be lifted

08 Grace Davies - Super Love Me (481 points, peak @ #1)

From one of the best albums of the year comes this super pop song. It is a mystery to me why it did not have bigger commercial success. Grace is an unique artist with so much potential. The music video is also supercool - one of the best of the year.

First line:

"It felt so supernatural to have you hold me
A super kinda comfortable to have you around
Why d'ya have to make it like you super loved me
If you're only gonna go and super let me down?"

07 RØRY - Morality $uicide (495 points, peak @ #1)

RØRY is the stage name of English singer-songwriter Roxanne Emery, known for her raw, emotionally charged alternative pop/rock sound. Her music explores mental health, grief, addiction, and survival, resonating strongly with fans through its honesty and intensity. After years working behind the scenes as a songwriter, RØRY found major success as a solo artist, building a devoted following through viral releases and powerful live performances. Her work blends anthemic melodies with deeply personal storytelling, positioning her as a distinctive voice in modern alternative music. 06 Sigrid - Two Years (500 points, peak @ #1)

"There's Always More That I Could Say" is such a fantastic pop album. "Two Years" is my favourite song from it and a brilliant piece of pop music.

05 Tate McRae - Sports Car (548 points, peak @ #2)

"Sports Car" is a superinfectious pop song with a brilliant hook and together with "Greedy" my favourite song from Tate. "Sports Car" is the highest ranked song, which was not #1.

Oh, golly gee (gee)

04 Yungblud - Zombie (551 points, peak @ #1)

"Zombie" is the stand-out song from Yungblud's fourth studio album "Idols". A great indie rock song with a catchy refrain.

03 Sombr - 12 To 12 (565 points, peak @ #1)

Such a fantastic breakthrough year of Sombr. Only killers, no fillers. "12 To 12" is my favourite Sombr song so far.
