It's heading up a very unchanged top 10 with the only question being whether or not "Loser" overtaking "the cure" counts as making the chart fresher or not. There is movement however. Adéla's new album has significantly bolstered her chart positions as "Ain't In LA" jumps up to the top 20. Zara Larsson has also very belatedly jumped into the top 20. I remember hearing that song this time last year and thinking it was a bit old then. For a new entry this week, we've got Ashe getting her second ever top 50 hit, and it's likely to be her highest charter next week. Behind her is HUGEL & co., which is a pertinent time for me to finally remember pointing out that the ARIA Charts banished AI generated music a few weeks ago. The ruling appears to be appropriately vibes based and all we can really say is that Josh Fawaz and his uninspired dance remakes are no longer welcome (not that he ever cracked the top 50). For several weeks now, "Movin' To The Sun" has been missing from all chart tracking and it wasn't clear if it was falling prey to this ruling as well, but it appears to have been let onto the chart for now. ARIA's rulings appear to draw the line at heavy AI assistance, where Josh Fawaz has an AI filtered vocal and also AI programmed drums credited in his meta-data, so there's a point of difference here. It gives Ultra Naté her first new top 50 hit since the late '90s.Angus & Julia Stone score their 3rd #1 album this week, which feels low to me, but they genuinely hadn't gotten to the top since 2014. Adéla scores her first ever albums chart entry, which possibly means that a lot of people just heard "KGB" for the first time. It was only a year ago that President charted for the first time but they're back and now sporting a top 10 finish. Charting for the first time is Ecca Vandal with her second album, which actually got released months ago but only just now got a full physical release. You might know her for featuring on Hilltop Hoods' top 20 hit "Exit Sign" in 2019, which might not necessarily prepare you for her often much louder rock bangers. Speaking of rock bangers, Airbourne are in fact still around, but depending on how you convert chart positions with different rules, might not be doing much better than they did in the UK despite being an Australian band. It could be worse, Natalie Imbruglia didn't even chart. Zara Larsson barely gets a new peak for her album by 1 spot, heading up a surprisingly lofty list of re-entries this week. Nemzzz gets his first ever chart entry in Australia.

I'm getting on a flight tonight so I'm rushing this out now. Fortunately not much to note this week except that Adéla has a second top 50 and top 20 hit this week. This is obviously because Nicole Kidman is Australian. Olivia Rodrigo notches a 6th week at #1 on the album chart.

It looks like it won't really get a run going on this time though because Taylor Swift appears to be playing the interrupter again. This is the second time she's done it to this particular song because "I Knew It, I Knew You" also knocked it off #1 (nearly a second time when physicals got it back to #1 but Ella was only #3 that week). Adéla has simultaneously scored her first and second top 10 hits, I don't know how you decide which one comes first. Amongst all the mostly steady usuals, HUGEL has a hugel jump, and sombr re-enters with "My Body Isn't Ready" for the 3rd time. The song has only 4 times in its 15 week run not moved more than 10 places. Noah Kahan has a good week that includes "Willing and Able" returning to its old peak, which I presume will be smashed next week as he's been playing in Australia this week. On my way to the AFL Grand Final on Saturday, I walked past the line to his show at Rod Laver Arena that wasn't set to start for about 10 hours and there were already dozens of people there in the pouring rain. That reminds me, I need to update my signature again. Also on the touring front is Calvin Harris who is doing unprecedented numbers for an EDM act and has seen his catalogue flying up on the streaming charts. Most of that isn't seen here but it does provide a bolster to "Blessings" which finally cracks the top 50, having previously peaked at #61 like a year ago. She's been slowly ascending with successive releases, and now this week beabadoobee goes the whole way to get her first ever #1 album. It's also the first time she's ever gotten higher on the chart than when Powfu's "death bed" peaked at #5. This might come as a surprise as she outperforms the more famous star in Miley, but then she's never had two #1 albums in the same decade so perhaps this is just nature doing its regular course. Sydney punk band C.O.F.F.I.N. return with their 6th album, and second to chart. This time they've gotten considerably higher and land at #8. Also improving stocks is Lizzy McAlpine who has never had a top 50 debut before but instead opted for a very belated entry in the top 50 with her previous album after a vinyl re-release (as far as I could tell, "five seconds flat" never got counted on the chart so I have no idea how high it could have charted). Her new album makes the top 10 this week which also surpasses her #19 singles chart peak with "ceilings". I'm listening to the album right now and got tickets yesterday so I'm pretty stoked. US country singer Riley Green has never made the top 50 before but had a very long lasting bubbling hit with "you look like you love me". His latest album gets him his first. Members of the thrash big four Anthrax return with their first entry in a decade which is their second highest charting album ever. There's a peculiar first time entry for BIG NOTER, a rap metal group fronted by rapper Briggs, who you might know from his solo work or A.B. Original. I saw them supporting Karnivool last year when they only had two songs out but it was still a blast. Carly Rae Jepsen scores her 4th top 50 album and it's also her highest charting since 2012's "Kiss". Also getting her second highest charting album this week is Tove Lo who hasn't been sighted on the album chart since 2016. Beck has fared a bit better in the past though amusingly he arrives at the exact same debut as his last album this week. Five Finger Death Punch very slightly improve on their debut position of #46, while Alyssa Grace also returns with a slight new peak (previously reaching #45).
