Each week, 10 new releases are selected to go head to head, with one weekly winner which will then go up against future weekly winners later in the year at the end of each quarter of the year, and then again at the end of the year to determine the ultimate winner of 2026.

Last week's results:

Noah Kahan - Porch Light [3]

James Blake - Trying Times [2]

Voted for Muse, it's like they've gone back to 2006 (their best era for me!)

Black Keys and DMA's not bad but after a couple of listens the Muse track has started hitting so I went for that this week.

My personal rankings for Week 12;

  1. Muse – Be With You

  2. Foo Fighters – Caught In The Echo

  3. DMA'S – My Baby's Place

  4. The Black Keys – Where There's Smoke, There's Fire

  5. Nickelback – Bones For The Crows

  6. Dermot Kennedy – Honest

  7. Artemas – more than just a little bit

  8. Death Cab for Cutie – Riptides

  9. MUNA – So What

  10. Paris Paloma – Miyazaki

1 MUNA

2 Foo Fighters

3 Artemas

4 Dermot Kennedy

5 The Black Keys

6 DMA'S

7 Death Cab For Cutie

8 Muse

9 Paris Paloma

10 Nickelback

I did end up growing to quite like 'Dancing On The Wall' but 'So What' is instantly miiiiles better for me, easily my fave here and one that just gets better and better as it goes along <3 Otherwise Foo Fighters bringing another fuzzy banger and another good tune from Artemas although feels weird to be listening to this one from the Indie forum. The Dermot and The Black Keys songs are better than their previous releases this year but nothing too special. 6-8 are all ok, a bit of a disappointing one from Death Cab For Cutie as I'd been excited to hear a new song from them, likewise with Muse although they've been hit or miss for years really, I did think their last album was a bit overhated though. Also a disappointingly middling song from Paris Paloma after really enjoying her last single. And that sure is a Nickelback song (it's not terrible I guess).

Cannot say I was expecting that Muse would be winning this poll x
