• First #1 hit for American boyband The Runarounds, made up of (left to right in the above picture): Jeremy Yun (lead guitar), William Lipton (lead vocals and guitar), Axel Ellis (lead vocals and guitar), Zendé Murdock (drums) and Jesse Golliher (vocals and bass guitar), though Jeremy has since departed the group, and music in general, to focus on his studies.

• The Runarounds were formed by Outer Banks creator Jonas Pate with their own TV show in mind, which launched on Amazon Prime last year. Despite the fictional show, they are a real band outside of the show, and their TV show features their own original music.

• All of The Runarounds' charting songs this week, other than Bleachers, feature on the TV show soundtrack. Arrhythmia (I Hope You Stay), however, is charting mostly off the back of the main version released independently of the soundtrack version.

• The group have five top 10 hits this week, including the entire top 4. Axel holds the entire top 5, with Hotel Room, from his other band Ax and the Hatchetmen, falling 3-5.

• The Runarounds are the second artist of the year to make their chart debut at #1 in both the singles and albums charts, following Cavetown. Before that, glaive was the most recent to achieve this, back in 2022.

• Bleachers overtakes One Direction's Best Song Ever and Why Don't We's Hooked to be the longest running boyband #1 in my chart's history.

• The soundtrack returns to #1 for a third week in my album chart, and two songs from the soundtrack make their top 40 debuts, meaning ten of the 14 original songs on there have now made my top 40.

I'm unfortunately not a fan of dai dai. Waka waka is so superior in my mind ears and eyes lol.

Stupid Song is fantastic and actually took a few days to grow on me properly. I really didn't like the really slow build up but I am loving it now. It's much better than drop dead.

unrelated to the chart you posted, but in your playlist I see two of my favourite new songs of the week. "The Time Of My Life" is stunning - my absolute favourite song from Benson Boone so far. It reminds of soft rock brilliance from the late 70's and early 80's. Second favourite is Delta's new song, which is again very good.
