Robbie is in this weeks OK Magazine appearing at number 3 in the rich list 2006 for the British and Irish stars.

Robbie Williams - Number 3 (last years position number 17)

£30 Million made in 2006.

Aged - 32

Three million people across 18 different countries saw Robbie perform live in by far the biggest tour he has ever done.

He did 49 gigs in South Africa, Europe, South America and Australia, playing big stadiums with at least 100,00 seats. He brought out a new album, Rudebox in October, but sales are slow - only half of the previous album, Intensive Care. He's joining the super league with the likes of Elton John and the Stones, where album sales are secondary and touring provides the big money. He has a huge contract with T-Mobile.

Elton John is number one with earnings in 2006 of £40 million and the Rolling Stones are number two with earnings of £38 million.

Thanks to Fionam from TRWS ^_^

Surly the tour grossed more? I know he did'nt get all the money, but he got 75% (I think). 3.5 million tickets at an average of perhaps £40 a ticket? Although, it did cost £29m did'nt it? That's what it said in the Sun. Still well done to him.

Should bring his total wealth to £120m :o :o

It is simply astonishing how much money he is worth at such a young age :o B)

Yip. It used to be tours made losses and were only to help promote the albums. Nowadays it seems Touring is where the mega-bucks is and record sales are secondary.

Yip. Only in the 'super league' though :P

Still thought he would've made more with the tour. I'd like to know how much it grossed overall. £140m if you go by the average of £40 a ticket (which is actually too low as most of them were ALOT more). He should've made more. :P

Yes. I think the Stones charged about £80 a ticket or something. Robbie's ticket prices have always been quite low compared to what the other big names charge.

*cough* Madonna *cough* :P

I paid 85 Euro (£56), for my ticket off the offical site and ended up at the back

Bloody cheak!! -_-

Still he should've got more than £30m. I mean the tour alone should've game him alot more when you think about it and does'nt he get like £10m per album?

I am so pleased he made alot of money with his tour, silly isn't it? Here he is getting richer and I am getting poorer lol.

It does seem that touring is the main revenue these days. Elton or the Rolling Stones have not had mega sales with their albums or singles, I cannot remember when they were last in the charts. Yet they make a huge lot of money thru touring.

Just think if Robbie had broke America and toured he would have been making double that amount, still it is something he does not want to do. At least he is being honest.

I feel Robbie would have been No.1 too if he didn't cancel his tour of Asia. So good one Robbie! I am sure he will invest his money wisely.

He could do a Barbra Streisand. Do one concert. Charge £10,000 a ticket and make £40 million from the TV rights. <_<

I was watching a program on tv earlier, It was a coutdown of the richest celebs according to Forbes for 2006. Rob was nowhere to be seen, as he is not big in the US, however Tom Cruise is #1 with $67m earner last year, Rob earner nearly $60m last year as well. It is hard to believe that someone who does'nt even release in the US could be up their with their biggest celeb

Not sure whether the OK article would have bothered to try and work out full 2006 earnings, or whether they based it on the accounts filed for 2006 (with a balance sheet date end March, just before the tour started).

I don't think we know how much the tour cost. Will maybe get more info on that when the 2007 accounts are filed. I had a look at the 2006 accounts a few weeks ago- If I remember right there was ~£29m cash in the accounts at the end of March (which is what the papers reported as money ready to fund the tour) - and ~£29m 'deferred income' Which surprised me, because with over 3m tickets sold I would have expected closer to £150m in deferred revenue just before the tour started, so maybe this had the prepaid costs offset ? Didn't think about it too hard though, as its a good few years since I worked as an accountant

EMI have a 25% shareholding in the company - which means they get 25% of profits (and own 25% of the assets).

Hmm, not really sure, but I would've thought if he made 75% of the profits and the tour itself cost £29m (well rumoured anyway), then going by an average of £50 a ticket, the total comes to £175m, minus the £29m, and then the 75%, he should've got at least £100m himself from the tour

No Scotty - the £29m was cash in the bank at the end of March (the date of the financial statements), which was available to fund the tour. Doesn't mean they will, have spent all that £29m on the tour, conversely by March a lot of money will already have been spent (building stages , rehearsals, preparing videos etc...).

I don't think it is possible to guess how much profit the tour made. More will be revealed in around a years time when the accounts to March 2007 are filed.
