Brian's vigil as Delta rushed to hospital Thursday February 1st 2007 ADVERTISEMENT BRIAN McFadden cancelled his flight home to London yesterday as he maintained a vigil at the bedside of his girlfriend in a Dublin hospital. The former Westlife singer had been due to return to England with Delta Goodrem but the couple are unsure of their plans after Delta was struck with a mystery illness. Doctors at Beaumont Hospital are perplexed about the condition of the young Australian woman (22) and planned to keep her in overnight. Brian rushed her to the northside hospital from his home in Artane on Sunday night after she complained of stomach pains. A friend of the singer said Delta had tests yesterday but doctors are still unsure if her abdominal distress has been caused by a ruptured appendix. Tests "They have not operated but are doing a lot of tests," she said. "It looks like it is more serious than the stomach bug they thought she had on Sunday night." Unfortunately Delta missed Brian's performance as the host of the Cheerios Childline concert and her condition got worse the next morning. The former 'Neighbours' star has spent a lot of time in hospital in the past after developing cancer as a teenager. Her acting and singing career were put on hold in 2003 after the diagnosis, and she withdrew from the hit TV soap. But she successfully battled Hodgkin's lymphoma, undergoing chemotherapy at St Vincent's Hospital in Darlinghurst. She can count on Brian's support during her current ordeal. Earlier this month, McFadden answered "Delta" when Ryan Tubridy asked him what was the best thing that had ever happened to him. He said he was hopeful of marriage and devoted to her. Not sure how true the article is, but I really hope Delta is ok! sky news video on the news here! np Edited February 2, 200718 yr by visualisedelta

February 2, 200718 yr i'm worried that it's going to turn in to something bad and then we won't hear about the album for like 2 more years
February 2, 200718 yr i dont think it would. the main area of concern would be her neck if it was something bad (cancer). i guess it is just appendicitis and they simply remove the appendix. the tests would be the white blood cell count. she will be fine. take about a week to get over it. oh and stupid media have not done any other research, all they have done is copy that article and just add old footage, still good to see the beautiful girl on tv
