February 7, 200718 yr Author Barry gave us some joy down the left, and today was just another example of why Lampard or Gerrard cannot play together to save their lives. And can someone please explain to me why we always end up with a German referee  screwing us over. As soon as Crouch moved 1 inch off the floor his whistle was in his gob Well the Lampard and Gerrard debate is gonna go on forever until someone plucks up the balls to drop either one of them. I'd prefer it to be Lampard as he doesn't really add that much to the team at all and he's really wasteful with what he does sometimes, whilst Gerrard is very in-concistant with England but overall he'd add more to the team IMO.
February 7, 200718 yr I'd say Lampard should be dropped too, as Gerrard is far more authoritative in the middle as well.
February 7, 200718 yr J.Cole - Carrick/Hargreaves - Lampard/Gerrard - Lennon, imo sounds about right just a shame both Cole's are out, Hargreaves needs more match time, and Lennon has a lingering illness. Shame Paul Scholes won't come out of retirement
February 7, 200718 yr So, J.Cole/Downing/Barry - Left wing Carrick/Hargreaves/Parker/Barton - Central Midfield Gerrard/Lampard - Central Midfield Lennon/SWP - Right Wing Without Nolan, we have quite a good midfield not like, Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas, Silva, Joaquin, Albelda, Marchenna, Xabi Alonso, Vicente, the list is endless..
February 8, 200718 yr So, J.Cole/Downing/Barry - Left wing Carrick/Hargreaves/Parker/Barton - Central Midfield Gerrard/Lampard - Central Midfield Lennon/SWP - Right Wing Without Nolan, we have quite a good midfield not like, Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas, Silva, Joaquin, Albelda, Marchenna, Xabi Alonso, Vicente, the list is endless.. from that list I go (as Joe Cole is injured for a while) Downing Parker Gerrard © Lennon
February 9, 200718 yr Gerrard is usually fairly good for England, far better than Lampard anyway who should never ever play for us again. Crouch IS a good player and SHOULD be in the squad but he's AN IMPACT PLAYER argghhhh, NOT worthy of a starting role!!! Please, Michael - no more injuries!!
February 9, 200718 yr Nolan is class for England on FM 2007 too  he got me 7 goals in 6 caps  If only that game was accurate
February 11, 200718 yr I wonder whether Steve McClown sat in front of his TV last night and watched SkySports coverage of Real Sociedad v Real Madrid. For those who did not watch the match David Beckham was recalled to the side after Real Madrid have had a miserable run of 11 Pts in 8 La Liga Games (3 wins, 2 Draws & 3 Defeats) without him, leaving them 5 Pts behind Barcelona (who have been less than brilliant lately as well) taking just 15 Pts from their last 8 La Liga Games. David Beckham scored the equaliser from a free-kick & set up the winner with a precision cross to the head of Ruud Van Nisterooy and was voted Man of the Match. Despite being only David's third League start in a Real Madrid shirt this season he has still scored 4 goals & had 11 assists this season. As Capello said after the match when asked about David he replied cryptically "As I said before, the mark of an intelligent person is one who knows how to rectify his mistakes". After England's last 4 inept performances under Steve McClown, is there anyone out there who still thinks Shaun Wright-Phillips or Aaron Lennon who don't play regularly for their Premiership sides are better than David Beckham in the Right-wing position for England's crucial away Euro-qualifier in Israel? More to the point is Steve McClown capable of taking heed of Capello's comments?
