A very bad move if true IMO,I know I keep saying it but he should for once not release an album every year, it is about time he took a year off, then he can come back bigger and better than ever in 2008, and it will be welcomed, as people will have missed him so much more and he would be so much more appriciated. It's far too soon affter Rudebox, and all the negetivity. And it is most definatly Swing as he said that was next. Swing is ideal for a late Oct or Nov release, a month or two before Xmas, that way huge sales are guarenteed, and unless he actually promots it then it is pointless imo. I am completelly against a Swing album, as I think one covers album for a creadible song-writer at such a young age is more than enough. Leave the covers album up to has-beens like Rod Stewart to do. I just wish he would take the rest of this year off, continue writing amazing music with Guy, Stephen, Boots ,Soul M, Brandon etc etc and make the best possible album and come back with all guns blazing in 2008. Releasing a covers album after Rudebox will just make people think he is desperate for sales and has to resort to 50 year old track to be huge again in the UK, when infact we know that it is part of his contract to release Swing. I am hoping EMI change their mind and want the next studio album released instead and not Swing. -_-

EDIT: Thankfully it looks like this site in false, there have been no release dates given for loads of those albums, especially Jacko and U2. U2's probebly won't be released till 2008 anyway. ^_^

I don't really want a new Swing album

Me neither, the more I think about it the more I don't want it. I would'nt mind one after the next proper album if needs be, but it just could'nt be a worse idea imo. :(

i would like a new swing album if he writes all the songs on his own.. new swing songs.. i think he already sung all the good ones.. just do a album like michael bublé.. so some emotional and some happy jazz/swing songs..

btw i LOVED I will talk and hollywood will listenn songs like that should be an a new swing album.

Rumoured Tracklisting according to Wikipedia. Funnily enough, they are the exact same suggestions I made for songs on TRWS

Come Fly With Me

Fly Me To The Moon

For Once In My Life

I've Got You Under My Skin

Lets Face The Music And Dance

Moon River

Moondance

My Way

New York, New York

Smile

Summer Wind

That's Life

The Way You Look Tonight

The Lady Is a tramp

Well that's a great tracklisting and not all natural Swing songs. I'm pleased he's doing this because he has such a great voice and it is not appreciated as widely in his recent stuff. Here are some songs where he can really show off his voice, plus his first Swing Album was a huge success. If he can do another BBC Albert Hall show, this will fly out the shops like the first one did. I hope he does another duet with Nicole Kidman again! IMO he is under-rated as a singer, when he is actually Britain's most gifted male singer of his generation. Despite all his publicity antics, he doesn't need to do anything else but sing great songs.

I just now noticed that list you posted Scotty.

No, please no Swing album. But, one good thing is that release date is a day after my birthday, so it'd be a good present. ^_^ No, no, I don't want I Swing album... I said that like a hundred times, already. And I still don't understand why he needs those covers. :(

Actually, I am pretty positive that tracklisting was complete Wikipedia bull$h!t. It is'nt even there anymore, and was almost identical to the tracklisting I suggested on TRWS.

Anyway, there is no way that is the tracklisting, he has said to fans who have gone to see him in LA that the new album will be Swing but very different from the last. And considering he is working with Guy again, I have a strong feeling he will be writing original Swing tracks with a jazz feel to it (well if Mark Ronson is also working on it). Rob is never one to repeat himself.

Although I think his voice sounds amazing when he sings 'Swing' songs, I don't see how writing original Swing songs will work. I could be wrong and it could be amazing and also mega successful, as 'I Will Talk Hollywood Will Listen' was brilliant. But I'd much perfer a pop/rock album myself, or one with pop/rock/swing/rap/electro/ballads etc all in one :P But if it is part of his contract than i supose he has to do it. At least it won't be till next year anyway ^_^

I thought he had changed his mind on a Swing release. <_<

I thought he had changed his mind on a Swing release. <_<

I don't think he has a choice Susie. :( Which is why i think he wants to make it very different from the last. ^_^

I just wish he would scrap it all and come back next year with his own material, and not Swing. I want classic Robbie songs. By the time new album will be out (probebly sometime next year), it will have been ages since he was around, and I think he should come back promoting his own songs, not covers. Unless as I said he is writing the Swing album, but I don't see that being mega succcessfull for some reason.
