Posted February 3, 200718 yr Ok let me hear the horror flicks you thought were truly lame! There’s bound to be loads. Some I can think of, Seed of Chucky Leprechaun Critters
February 10, 200718 yr Re-animator, Zombie Flesh Eaters 1, 2 and 3, Zombie Nosh, City Of The Dead, Return Of The Living Dead
February 10, 200718 yr Blair Witch Project by a country mile, about as scary as an episode of Trumpton
February 10, 200718 yr Blair Witch Project by a country mile, about as scary as an episode of Trumpton
February 10, 200718 yr the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre... shocking... but not in a good way -_-
February 13, 200718 yr Just about any remake of a classic 60s or 70s Horror (with the notbable exception of Alexandre Aja's very creditable remake of "Hills Have Eyes", mind you, Aja is French though, not an American...) is a contender for lamest Horror Film ever.... Oh, and all the mid-90s 'post-modernist', 'self-reflexive' crud like "Urban Legend", "Scream" (great opening, shame about the rest of it..) and its sequels and "I Know What You Did Last Summer" are also in the running.... Seems like its only the Japanese, Korean and European film-makers that can actually make a Horror film scary these days.....
February 13, 200718 yr Seems like its only the Japanese, Korean and European film-makers that can actually make a Horror film scary these days..... even saying that, there are loads of dodgy stuff from these areas. think its just that tartan films have the decency to normally turf out the c**p. look in the screen intertnation buyer guide for the big market and distribution fares. some dodgy stuff advertised in there that bever comes our way.
February 13, 200718 yr Critters is just brilliantly! Ghoulies is awful. For anybody who remembers it it was a 80's ripp of of Critters - now that's really saying something
February 13, 200718 yr The original Hills Have Eyes, if someone had not said tp me it was a horror before I watched it would not have known...
February 13, 200718 yr The original Hills Have Eyes, if someone had not said tp me it was a horror before I watched it would not have known... Well, it is and it isn't... I'd place it more in the 'suspense' or 'drama' category tbh... I reckon it has more in common with films like "Deliverance" than it does with a typical Horror....
February 14, 200718 yr exas chainsaw massacer two, the folowup to the 70's one. it was bassicaly the same story line only the budget was even lower!
February 14, 200718 yr exas chainsaw massacer two, the folowup to the 70's one. it was bassicaly the same story line only the budget was even lower! To be fair, it did have Dennis Hopper.... One of the film's few plus points..... Believe it or not, "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" had a significantly bigger budget than the first one....
February 14, 200718 yr but it was so awfull???? i dont know what they used the budget on???!! To be honest I'm more appalled by the horrendous remakes of the 00s than I was by the actual TCM sequels.... Mind you the fourth TCM film (the one with Renee Zellweger) was a complete pile of sh!te...... As for the whole budget thing, it's always the way, a director who achieves something quite astonishing with a tiny budget just getting carried away when they're given a fair bit of money to play with... I dunno, they just seem to stop actually working at it and really caring and instead go through the motions rather than put a bit of passion and soul into it..... It's depressing really... :(
August 28, 200717 yr seed of chucky was awfull, shame as no.4 was the best ever. watched this just now and yes it was $h!te. might be due to the fact that it was actually a 'British' film (scarly "A United Kingdom/Romanian co-production" ) that it was $h!te and instead of looking like your usual Michael Bay blast of colour, the filming makes it looks more like an ITV teatime drama like a 'the tales of the expected' from the early 90s or godknowswhen (should have been so on itv3!!!) http://butlersheetmetal.com/tinbasherblog/images/pete_burns.JPG think it might have been more scary if Jennifer Tilly's part had actually been played by Pete Burns. Probs then might have ranked up with the films of Ed Wood as one of the all time trasho classics you got to watch in a list show no doubt hosted on a Baltimore cabel channel by John Waters!!! http://www.nndb.com/people/728/000024656/waters-hands-folded-sm.jpg (and obv what with the all the Glen or Glenda-bending, S Club 7 and Divine links esp to this film)
August 28, 200717 yr Has anyone here ever seen Night of the Lepus? It looks more funny rather than scary.
