"Creep" (2004) is just HORRID.

1st-time director I guess, but STILL.

"Creep" (2004) is just HORRID.

isnt that supposed to be a good thing.

btw any film that does to vaz blackwood what it does to vaz blackwood deserves more than 1 star (plus quite liked the ending)

There are simply too many bad films to choose from....and impossible to list all of them. Just saw Day Of The Dead 2 - Contagium and couldn't believe that a film which reportedly had a $9m budget had no decent actors, horrible characters, way too slow moving script etc. A while back I saw the critically aclaimed film horror film (or thriller?) Perfyme - Story Of A Murderer and that sure was a dull film...even thou even shorter version wouldn't have helped with that kinda ridiculous script.

Also some films are so bad that they actually end up being entertaining anyways, films like House Of The Dead (well, the sequel was just horrendous and made with about $500 or less  ).

Some of the films listed here are actually quite good IMO. Critters is not that bad, Return Of The Living Dead is a horror classic IMO, Scream was very entertaining, I Know What You Did Last Summer was well-made basic horror film that did entertain me at least the ticket price's worth certainly.

Then the remake frenzy that has been doing on lately....There are a hole bunch of good remakes IMO: Dawn Of The Dead, The Grudge, The Ring, The Hills Have Eyes, and even Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Sure, remakes like The Wicker Man, The Fog, Amityville Horror, Grudge2/Ring2 have been horrendous but there are many good remakes made in the last few years.

And talking about remakes and lame horror films, even thou it did bomb at the box office and thought by many to be very lame, I think the 80s version of The Blob is great fun to watch (and I've probably seen it like half a dozen times when i was a kid and could easily sit it through again).

but thing is do you inc all the dtv ones?

isnt that supposed to be a good thing.

No, horrid in a "This film is embarrassingly bad" way.

Piles of steaming $h!te compared to the originals as far as i'm concerned

Dawn Of The Dead original is very good, especially because of the critique to the consumption society...still today a good point. But the remake was also good...it also had the theme you have all the material goods but that doesn't make you happy necessarily. Also good actors, loads of action, good pacing etc. I think both original and remake are jolly good fun to watch.

TCM remake was ok, nothing special but decent especially considering that it had a very small budget but it didn't show. The original is absolutely horrendous. It became a video nasty or whatever these kinda flicks were called in the UK in the 80s when they were banned just because of the chainsaw. It was boring and to quite my sister: "I had to turn off the volume since the last half hour was just that one woman running around and screaming". That sums it up, lots of screaming, little more.

Really crass 'horror' films I've seen in my time ....

Frogs (well the title says it all doesn't it?)

Night of the Lepus (mentioned earlier)

Nightwing - bloody awful film about bats - to make it worse - one of my favourite actors - David Warner was in this heaving pile of poo!

Any one of "I Know What You Did Last Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring, Weekend, Saturday, etc, etc"

Kathy

....

Oh, and all the mid-90s 'post-modernist', 'self-reflexive' crud like "Urban Legend", "Scream" (great opening, shame about the rest of it..) and its sequels and "I Know What You Did Last Summer" are also in the running....

SCREAM IS an absolute awesome beast of a movie, it redefined and re launched the slasher genre!! 2 was quite good, had more moments but was just not as scary, 3 just sucked on a whole new level. I know what you did was ok, the follow up pants. The worst has to be soul survivors with eliza dushku, it was a 12 for christ sake!!! Anyone seen a movie called spiders 2, dont!!

Resident Evil 2, the first one had suspence and was a bit scary at times. The second one was just an action movie though.
