Posted February 4, 200718 yr CHILDREN are using mobile phones to film each other having sex and are then sending the images to classmates. Experts say the trend is growing and draw comparisons to the “happy slapping†craze in which children use mobile phone cameras to film assaults on members of the public. Two weeks ago a 13-year-old boy was caught with footage on his mobile phone of two fellow pupils aged 15 having sex near their school in Warwickshire. In another case last summer a 16-year-old boy used his mobile phone to film a 14-year-old girl having sex in a bedroom at a house party in Perth and sent the images to his school friends. Some blame the trend on the ease with which children can access pornography on the internet or mobiles, so they become desensitised to images normally regarded as shocking. Andrew Durham, a consultant practitioner at the Sexualised Inappropriate Behaviours Service, which deals with children’s sexual problems, said: “It is now a feature within young people’s culture that these incidences get filmed. It is similar to the way people use phones to film others being assaulted.†The service, a council programme in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, has treated a dozen cases in the past year involving children where sex acts were videoed on mobile phones or sexual behaviour was copied from images on the internet. The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) has begun an assessment with Cork University to establish the scale of the problem. Kevin Gibbs, co-chairman of the NSPCC’s sexually harmful behaviour group, said the work would analyse data from 22 of its centres in Britain. “All of our services have come across some examples where pornographic and adult images have been passed round on mobile phones or images taken of people in embarrassing sexual situations,†he said. “Once images are passed on to their friends it can go into a spiral where they have no control or say over who looks at it.†According to recent research, 90% of children aged 10-19 in Britain own a mobile phone. As well as a camera, many have internet access that allows pornography to be downloaded and swapped between phones. Experts believe many children are unaware that sending pornographic images can fall foul of the law. Last month, in one of the first such court cases, Callum McKinley, 16, admitted passing on video footage of a friend having sex with an underage girl. Perth sheriff court was told McKinley used his phone to film a classmate having sex with a 14-year-old girl at a party last May. The girl complained to police when the clips were passed around the school. McKinley, a former under-16 schoolboy international, escaped punishment so he could pursue his football career. In London, two boys were arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl after footage of the alleged assault was filmed on a mobile phone and discovered. The boys were charged, but the case never went to court. Gill Mullinar, co-ordinator of the Sex Education Forum, part of the National Children’s Bureau, said children were computer literate at a young age, increasing the risk they would see graphic images they did not understand. “What young people consistently tell us is they get too little sex education too late and it’s only about the biology of sex rather than the nature of relationships,†she said.
February 4, 200718 yr I've heard of this. One of my brothers friends is only 16 and was taped on someone's phone having sex. Which was then bluetoothed to everyone under the sun. Most disturbing. -_-
February 4, 200718 yr At 14/15 and younger the girls should not be shagging at that age anyways so they should not expect sympathy, and the fact they were doing it in full view of people who had mobiles makes me think they probably told the boys to film it when they were drunk either way they should not have been shagging and they should not have allowed loads of lads in the room while they were doing it The exception though is in rape cases if ther is any evidence of rape involved then the guys should be jailed Edited February 4, 200718 yr by Kimi Raikkonen
February 4, 200718 yr That's their own stupid fault. -_- Why record yourself or let someone record you having sex in the first place? These people get no sympathy from me. -_-
February 4, 200718 yr Nothing is going to stop them from doing it if they want to, however much the government or whoever complain.

February 4, 200718 yr Let them do it but they should expect ZERO sympathy when they do it and it backfires on them, it is vile they are shagging anyways at 13/14/15 etc have people no shame these days ? its all part of the chav led moral decay that is poisoning this country where moral values are a thing of the jurassic era and life these days is all about shagging and getting drunk

February 4, 200718 yr yeuch.... it kind of shows the mentality and intelligence of the girl and boy involved to allow themselves to be filmed... maybe the distribution of these images and everyone seeing them, and the shame involved, will act as a deterrent for others? It's a worrying indication of how the young teens of 2007 seem about 10 years ahead of the teens in my day... and that's surely not a good thing.
February 4, 200718 yr Yeah we are seeing the behaviour of the "I want it all and I want it now" generation, people who want fame and fortune without wanting to work hard for it and idolise the likes of Paris Hilton and want to have had 50 partners by the time they reach 16 and want to get drunk and get drunk now and are not prepared to wait in life for anything and when this generation reaches 18 they will get themselves into incredible credit card debt because again they want everything immediately, the signs of this generation really is rather disturbing There are some good decent teenagers on this board from the posts I read but sadly I think they are the minority in society not the majority The moral decay really has set in
February 4, 200718 yr Why do children have mobile phones with video on anyway ? Why do parents feel the need to equip their children with such costly things and then act surprised when they use them?? Why do these children have such free acess to the internet and pornography?? Sex amongst teenagers is not new ..... but the surrounding technology is and it is the parents who do not monitor / understand or even care about it who are to blame. It is possible to say no to teenagers (even if they are 6' 3"!!) It is possible to monitor internet / msn access. It is also possible to talk to teenagers it is just a pity so few parents take the responsibility for their offspring.
February 4, 200718 yr When i was at school at least 50% of my year group had had sex, it will get worse more than likely, personally i think people should wait until they are at least 16 and only have sex with someone if they have been going out with them for around 3 months unless there are other reasons.

Yeah exactly, its the wrong type of sex, in 99% of cases in under 16 it will be as a result of feeling horny after a binge drinking session on cider whereas sex should only be in a relationship and with someone they are comfortable being with in a relationship, this feckless drink and drugs inspired sex that is corrupting under agers is not good

February 4, 200718 yr whilst not right it is nothing new though is it?? but there seems to be no consequences anymore - nothing to make teenagers think twice?? Yeah you are right lol I think I am becoming more of a grumpy old man as I get older :P it was probably as bad in "our" day but the tolerance levels change as we get older lol but it just feels like we are in the whole Paris Hilton type "I want everything now" era
February 4, 200718 yr I wouldn't say teens have to be drunk to want sex, have you forgotten how horny you were as a teenager?

February 4, 200718 yr I agree it's not shocking, and like people have said, it's nothing new for teenagers to have sex, under the influence or not. Personally I think it's the way it's treated in schools as a bad thing that they can't teach, makes it more taboo, and teenages all end up thinking sex is a way of pushing boundaries. If we were more open about it in education, it'd be much less salacious and therefore not as big a deal. Answering the question, I don't think it's any "worse" than happy slapping, as it doesn't actually hurt anyone like slapping does. The only hurt caused is the feeling of stupidity when you realise everyone is watching you have (probably not very good) sex, which if you're stupid enough to let yourself be filmed when it's so common to bluetooth it along, is your own fault really.
