April 10, 200619 yr LOL! You never know Scott, but hearing him sing it live may change your opinion, I've had that before where I haven't liked a song then seen it performed live and loved it!! Open mind and all that!! ;) :D
April 10, 200619 yr No robswo said that it is wrong setlist. He apperently closed with South fo the border.
April 10, 200619 yr What a strange song to close with!! This cant be the setlist he'll use thru out the tour!

April 10, 200619 yr I think thats a brilliant setist  . Only change I would make is ditch Strong and do Spread your Wings. Radio as an opener...AMAZING (sorry Scott). I will be slightly disappointed if thats not the setlist now. God this is so exciting and the people that phoned the radio station seemed to have an amazing time. Now all we need is pictures and official news. Fingers crossed for the reviews
April 10, 200619 yr It is such an incredibly strange set list. Radio first :o Strong second last  Edited April 10, 200619 yr by Scotty

Now all we need is pictures and official news. Fingers crossed for the reviews I would like to hear Radio but definatly NOT as the opener. Sorry but nothing beat LMEY. But i do think in a big stadium that Radio would be better than Ghosts  I am confident it will be different to Europe. But then again i love almost EVERY song so i don't realy care  But strong second last  As rob would say, How peculiar
April 10, 200619 yr the fans that went to the concert said he was awesome and amazing. also mentioned he sang Make Me Pure as the last song (supposedly) then came back on and did LMEY, Strong and Angels. I have had an amazing night listening to Robbie. His voice is amazing - just love the guy :cheer: Mr Entertainment indeed.
April 10, 200619 yr thanks Scotty. oh yes, I don't think this was the true set list. I don't think he started with Radio either. But I hope he keeps Radio in. I didn't like Feel when I first heard it on the radio, but my god, when I heard it live, it changed my opinion for ever. All Robbie songs are like that. Seeing them performed 'live' adds a different dimension to them. Infact, I would say they are better live. You have Robbie's unique styling of them and his voice is one of the best in the business. Seeing him live proves that. adore him  Edited April 10, 200619 yr by Jackie
April 10, 200619 yr But strong second last  As rob would say, How peculiar  I'll say. I think he should ditch Strong. Its great but its time to let go now LOL...and as an encore  I sit and wait for the "official" setlist
April 10, 200619 yr Yep i would've perfered Spread your wings instead of strong but i do love the verse in strong and the chorus is a great singalong live. :cheer:
April 10, 200619 yr Durban setlist: Radio Rock DJ Tripping Monsoon Sin Sin Sin The trouble with me Millennium Back for good No regrets Advertising Space Ghosts Come Undone Feel A place to crash Kids Make me pure ----------------------------------- Let me entertain you Strong Angels Edited April 10, 200619 yr by Scotty
April 11, 200619 yr An odd set list indeed! Shame there were no B sides :( I agree with Jackie that seeing performed live songs adds a different dimension to them. There has been times where I've perfered the live version of a song than the CD version. Live music (for me personally) has an edge to it :)
April 11, 200619 yr Seeing them performed 'live' adds a different dimension to them. Infact, I would say they are better live. You have Robbie's unique styling of them and his voice is one of the best in the business. Seeing him live proves that. I second that....I have a funny way of deciding whether I like artists....firstly I hear their songs on the radio like everyone else, but before I truly like them, I have to hear them sing LIVE....if they are not up to scratch then I immediately go off them....so as you can imagine Robbie did not disappoint. He is one of those rare artists whose songs are better live.....ther are not many around who can say that. I quite like the set list, I think it provides something for everyone given that it was his first gig in South Africa....it had its classics and its new songs...he covered every studio album (except for swing which I would have thought he would have thrown one of those in)....if i had to take anything out I would take out Millenium and Strong, but really, no one can say they were left disppointed. :D I am so glad that Radio was on there....I would have been way disappointed had he not performed it. Good job Robbie, sounds like they all loved you. Edited April 11, 200619 yr by candygirl
April 11, 200619 yr So he definiteluy opened with Radio :) sorry Scotty - but I think that is great. I'm not surprised if he is getting bored of LMEY as an opener, and moving it to later in the set doesn't bother me at all.
April 11, 200619 yr I think it is wonderful and inspirational idea to start with Radio. He is bored with singing LMEY right at the beginning, so he moved it to a place where it would be more of fantastic ending. Long as he sings the songs the fans want to hear, especially those who have never seen him in concert before, I don't mind where he puts the songs, as long as he sings them. I think Robbie has been Robbie. Surprised us all. Keep Radio in Rob for your European dates please. A big fan of your new songs. :cheer: Edited April 11, 200619 yr by Susie
April 11, 200619 yr ROBBIE WILLIAMS HOTS UP THE STAGE... http://www.therobbiewilliamssite.com/SA.jpg He came, he sang and he took Durban by the scruff of the neck and shook it - and we, in turn, turned out en masse to celebrate the fact that raunchy Robbie Williams was starting his world tour right here in our city. We're not speed dating here, (although a large percentage of the women at last night's concert - ranging in age from 9-year-old Colby to 75-year-old Grace - "He can put his shoes under my bed..." - wouldn't have said no to Robbie). He's got the gift of the gab and the lad was just giving us all the chat up. And boy does he have a fine line in chat. Over two hours, between delivering pop classics like Rock DJ, Kids, Millennium, Let Me Entertain You and the lighters-in-the-air anthem Angels plus the newies, Advertising Space, Come Undone, Make Me Pure and Sin, Sin, Sin, plus a nod to that boy band - Take That - with Back For Good, Williams regaled a capacity crowd of over 40 000 with tales of his best mate's wife "her waters broke tonight", questions on the fit of his jeans "does my arse look big in this?" and lessons in spelling: "Regarding this banner girls, knob is spelt with a k." Clutching a red G-string thrown at him, Williams rampaged up and down the three-pronged stage, winking, wriggling, getting the girls all hot under the collar and, dare one mention it, literally charming the bras off several women in the crowd. As one who succumbed put it afterwards: "For some reason I lifted my top up and bared all. Thank God my boyfriend wasn't here." So no, he ain't the best singer in the world, he even stuffed up some of his own lyrics. He's also had some really rough, self-imposed patches in life and made nude videos where ravenous female fans fed on his flesh, but the man's got what Simon Cowell calls the X Factor - in spades. Rude, crude and yes as he admits himself: "I apologise for my language it's fu***** awful", he can sweat it up in a frock coat and leap around in a track suit (neither suited to our humidity). One regret, no tracks from his album of classic Sinatra and co. standards, Swing When You're Winning. Robbie, you'll have to come back and bring a tux next time.
