Arctic Monkeys confirm second LP release date and tracklisting

Artists: Arctic Monkeys

Sheffield's most indie-poppin' of kids Arctic Monkeys - they must've done their mocks by now - have confirmed a handful of details about their much-anticipated second album.

Favourite Worst Nightmare is to be released via Domino on April 23; a single, 'Brianstorm', will preceded the album by a week. Seven whole days. Yup.

Tracklisting? You got it! Straight from the label's mouth, this is...

'Brianstorm'

'Teddy Picker'

'D Is For Dangerous'

'Balaclava'

'Fluorescent Adolescent'

'Only Ones Who Know'

'Do Me A Favour'

'This House Is A Circus'

'If You Were There, Beware'

'The Bad Thing'

'Old Yellow Bricks'

'505'

Arctic Monkeys have three confirmed UK live dates upcoming, which look like this:

June

22-24 Glastonbury Festival

July

28 Manchester LCCG

No Bakery Song :o Still I'm so bloody excited about this now :cheer:

NOTE: Brianstorm is NOT a typo apparently :o

Some very interesting song titles there, I can just imagine them being faster than the previous stuff as Arctic Monkeys have said they will be. :D I want to hear 'The Bakery Song,' but perhaps they will use it as a future b-side insted. :) Hopefully we will get to hear 'Brianstorm,' by the end of this month. :D

Earlier than I expected! :o :cheer:

Album will be released April 30th then! :D ^_^ I'm loving the title for the album as well.

Hopefully the new single should get its first play within the next few weeks. :D ^_^

My bad.

I read the article wrong. I thought the single was coming out on the 23rd and then the album the following week. :P Seems the album is coming out on the 23rd though! :D ^_^

The single should be gets its first airplay even sooner then. ^_^

I expect they will let Radio 1 give it it's first play which is never a bad choice aslong as it's played on the correct show. :D

Yep I think it will as well! :D ^_^ It will be played on either Jo Whiley's show as her pet sound or Zane Lowe's hottest record in the world. :D If it's not getting its first airplay on Radio 1 then I expect it to air on XFM. :P

It definitley will be a much bigger occasion than 'Leave Before The Lights Come On,' as this single has to bode for the album. :D I think that tracklist answers the question of 'Leave Before The Lights Come On,' being on the album or not, that is if it isn't a bonus track?

It should be a much bigger occasion that LBTLCO. ^_^ And yes it does answer our questions. :P I don't think it will be included on the album at all now.

Looking at the tracklisting though some of the song titles seem really random. Mind you the majority of songs from their debut weren't exactly your average song names were they?

I actually think the song titles make the album sound exciting, they must have really used some innoative to have though of titles such as 'Brianstorm,' and 'Teddy Picker.' Now that they've set our hopes up the judgement relies on whether the album is as good as it actually sounds. :)

Brianstorm is gonna get on my nerves. :arrr: I keep wanting it to be Brainstorm. #

But well if it's been released as the first single then everyone must seem to hate it highly! ^_^

I've just realised that Mutya is releasing 'Real Girl,' on the same week as Arctic Monkeys release 'Brianstorm.' :o I realise she's no threat to Arctic's but it would make things a lot easier for her if she changed the week she was releasing imo.

I did exactly the same thing when reading the titles.

Yeah she probably could have released a better week. :P But still we shall just see. Y'never know, she could do better than you think. :P

I'm expecting her to flop worse than Alesha did with 'Lipstick.' I hope that I am suprised and she does well though. ^_^

I wouldn't expect Mutya to do so badly, she's not manufactured like EVERY other ex-band member who releases stuff

And as for the monkeys to quote Daft Punk the new album sounds Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

I would like to hope that Mutya manages to have similar sucess to Beyonce, Justin and Robbie but personally I know I would be kidding myself believing that. I just hope she does reasonably well and that the album is actually as good as expected. ^_^

That description makes Arctic's new album sound very promising aswell, so it had better be a good one. ^_^

Loving the Daft Punk comparison.

Maybe not that big mate  but an Amy Winehouse type success

Anyways, I have a feeling that AM aren't going to sucumb(?) to the 2nd album troubles most bands seem to, but I wonder if they can top the intensity of View from The Afternoon, that's a great instrumental in itself
