Blonde Hannah Spearritt was the bubbly, fun loving one in pop sensations S Club. But ask her what she thinks about ex-band member Jo O'Meara's bullying tactics in Celebrity Big Brother and she gets deadly serious. "I don't want to get involved in anything to do with what's happening to Jo," she says adamantly. While Jo's career is in ruins for her part in the disgraceful treatment of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, Hannah's future is much brighter. She's about to be seen in ITV1's big budget sc-fi series Primeval - and having split with her long time lover, fellow S Club singer Paul Cattermole, 29, she's fallen for her co-star, Andrew Lee Potts, 27. Hannah and Paul were together for six years and shared a home but have now gone their separate ways. "We split up last year. We're friends. I've got a lot of time for Paul and it's all good, but we're not together any more," says Hannah, 25. "I'm at a very good point in my life right now and really happy. Andrew and I are in a really good place, we believe in each other and make each other laugh a lot." Hannah hasn't rushed into setting up home with her new man - instead she's moved in with another former S Clubber, Jon Lee. "I'm very close to Jon and we'll always be close," she says. "I haven't seen some of the other guys for some time though." In Primeval, a series about dinosaurs, Hannah plays zoologist Abby Maitland. Andrew plays palaeontologist Connor Temple who, ironically, has a crush on her character. Hannah says her fellow cast members have been very supportive and helped her overcome insecurities about her abilities as an actress. She also credits Billie Piper for paving the way for ex-pop stars to become actors. "She's done brilliantly. In a way, it's opened doors for the likes of myself to be able to audition," says Hannah. "It might not have been the case if Billie hadn't shown it could work in Dr Who." S Club, who split in 2003, generated millions of pounds in income but each member received just £400,000, the rest going to management. While Jo O'Meara has debts in the region of £37,000, Hannah is slightly better off. "The image that people have is that pop bands earn millions," says Hannah. "But I don't think that many people come away from it as millionaires. We generated a lot of money but there's a lot of people involved who need to be paid. We earned enough money to make ourselves comfortable. And at the age of 21, to be able to own a house is quite a lucky position to be in." Primeval starts Saturday February 10 on ITV1.
