February 12, 200718 yr Well, she has learn't how to sing HDL due to singing it so many times on tour  and.. ye sher hair is HUGE... it looks like she is growing it longer... i think she is going to grow it a tiny bit longer and then straighten it.. this era is almost over after all... and she hasn't had dark hair for ages.. the change is near
February 12, 200718 yr mmm i just watched the performance, it was ok... makes me think she mimes it on tour
February 12, 200718 yr Not many reviews for Shakira and all the ones that I found seem to be focusing on her hips shaking, which was on particularly good form last night. People are starting to think she's a one trick pony though since she's been performing this song for a whole YEAR now! I can't help feeling, if she had performed an amped up version of Hey You she could've stolen the show. Shakira and Wyclef Jean, Hips Don't Lie: When Shakira's hips start shaking like Jell-O in a California earthquake, you can't help but be impressed. But she's been trotting out this routine for a while now, so it's getting kind of old. http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/16680572.htm It was up to Wyclef Jean, Shakira and her army of golden belly dancers to pick up the slack with "Hips Don't Lie." But coming off the coma-inducing medley by Corinne Bailey Rae, John Legend and John Mayer, all the belly rolls in the world weren't enough to shake off the yawns. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...DDG8OO31U31.DTL Other fantastic performances included Shakira, John Mayer, John Legend and Christina Aguilera. http://popsugar.com/135363 Dreaming of Shakira In the night's most provocative performance, Latin phenom Shakira dances up a storm in a midriff-baring outfit reminiscent of the '60s TV series I Dream of Jeannie. Joined by hip-hop's Wyclef Jean, Shakira shows off moves that would make a belly dancer blush. http://www.azcentral.com/ent/music/article...s0212color.html Stephenson invented a category called bad beauty, good dresses. Her first culprit was Christina Aguilera. She wore too much makeup, Stephenson said. "Also Shakira, a one-of-a-kind dress, a beautiful dress made for Shakira, but how could (you) see it beyond all that hair? That was too much. You could barely see her pretty face, so great dresses, bad beauty," Stephenson said. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/02/12/...in2462831.shtml Shakira's booty: Both Wyclef Jean and Shakira sounded winded during the Columbian singer's first Grammy performance, but her butt was ready for action. http://www.canada.com/victoriatimescolonis...1a-d25794c977dc • Best Hip-Shaking Moment: It came when Shakira and Wyclef Jean took the stage, singing their hit duet "Hips Don't Lie." And based on the moves the curvaceous singer was delivering, she may be right. Hers seemed to be saying, "You should have voted for us." (The pair lost to Stevie Wonder and Tony Bennett.) http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...ENT04/702120367 All that booty-shaking was a little too much for Wyclef to handle at last night's Grammy performance. The former Fugee couldn't keep his hands off of himself during the erotic performance -- grabbing his package every chance he could. As 'Clef and Shakira belted out their hit, "Hips Don't Lie," Wyclef adjusted his junk at least eight times on live television. Richard Simmons would be so proud! http://www.tmz.com/2007/02/12/wyclef-is-nuts-for-shakira/ Edited February 12, 200718 yr by Ashley

February 12, 200718 yr SHAKIRA STEALS THE SHOW I don't know much about television, but if I were in charge of a network, you can be sure that Shakira would have her own weekly prime time show in which she would be required to repeat the showstopping explosion of rhythm, melody and undulating sexuality that she performed with Wyclef Jean about an hour into the 2007 Grammy Awards. Compared to "Hips Don't Lie" (they don't!), the rest of the show was pretty lackluster. It's not exactly a fair comparison — most three alarm fires would be dull compared to Shakira. Not to say that Grammy didn't try. "We're the Police and we're back," went Sting's intro to the show and to the much hyped reunion of the early '80s biggest band. Unsurprisingly, they played a mellow version of "Roxanne," and even less surprisingly, it was really good. Still, you'd think with all that money, Sting could've afforded a shirt to wear under that vest. Another unquestionable highlight: Mary J. Blige, not just for winning three awards, the first such honors in her remarkable career, but for her righteous, blow-the-doors-off performance of "Be Without You." Her gratitude and stealth were fairly well awe-inspiring, as was the list of names she read at the end of her first acceptance speech — 55 according to some sources. I lost count. Other great performances: Justin Timberlake tearing into the break-up-centric gossip porn "What Goes Around," which he introduced as the best song he'd ever written. It was excellent, but I wonder if I was the only one who doubted that he was really playing that piano. Still, the hand-held Justin-cam was pretty sweet. Gnarls Barkley slowed "Crazy" down and toughened it up, investing the song with more spectacle than even the ubiquitous recorded version has. And the one moment that gave Shakira a run for her money as the show-stealer: Christina Aguilera laying waste to James Brown's "It's a Man's World," at the end of a medley that also included Smokey Robinson singing "Tracks of My Tears" AND Lionel Richie singing "Hello." A vision in white, spilling out of her vest (note to Sting: the look works for Christina, not for you), pouring every last drop of oxygen she had into this tribute to the late Godfather, Aguilera was so powerful that it didn't matter if she'd ever heard of James Brown before. There was a lot of earnest tribute made to Brown all night, but Christina was better than earnest. She was great. It was unquestionably cool to see the Dixie Chicks sweep the major categories, if only because it gave the sense that the Grammy voters weren't too buried in SoundScan charts to notice the fact that music can still interact with the culture in a meaningful way when it takes a stand. Still, their "I'm speechless" shtick sounded pretty scripted, and Emily Robison looked a bit like she just stepped out of a Robert Palmer video when they performed "Not Ready to Make Nice." Prince had a great moment when he walked onstage, unannounced, and said "One word & Beyoncé." The main reason it was great, though, was that during that short pause, it seemed possible that he might say "Prince," which would've been perfect. (Beyoncé, for her part, was beyootiful singing a boring song from "Dreamgirls.") And yes, David Spade's joke comparing him and Rihanna to David Bowie and Iman was pretty funny. As for the lowlights, they were hard to miss, so I'll stick to bullet points: -- Tony Bennett, in accepting the award for best duo vocal with Stevie Wonder (who was choked up about the death of his mother), thanked Target, "the best sponsor I ever worked for." Maybe he really did leave his heart in San Francisco. -- Pink, sounding like she might be carrying out instructions from a ransom note, referred to Jim Morrison as "lead shaman" of lifetime achievement honorees the Doors. Yuck! Did they let Ray Manzarek write her copy? (Co-presenter T.I. almost saved the moment by shouting "a'ight, a'ight! Let's break on through to the other side" before presenting an award.) -- Uh, John Mayer beats Justin Timberlake for best pop album? I'm not saying I care, I'm just saying, John Mayer?! -- Carrie Underwood's tribute to Bob Wills and Don Henley proved that without studio tricks, some American Idols belong back home, singing into the hairbrush. She wasn't as bad as soulless country fakes Rascal Flatts, who desecrated the Eagles' "Hotel California" and "Life in the Fast Lane." And I HATE those songs! -- Underwood's acceptance speech for Best New Artist (highway robbery! Even James Blunt would've been better!) sounded like it was written and performed by a music-biz robot. -- The whole "sing a song on stage with Justin Timberlake" contest thing. Do we really need more audience voting theatrics? Isn't one "Idol" enough? And does JT really deserve to sing a Bill Withers song? Please. -- In accepting the Best Rap Album award, Ludacris took a moment to ask for the world's prayers for "his partner," who was in critical condition, then said to his friend, "I love you to death." Curious choice of words, no? -- Burt Bacharach and Seal, co-presenting the Song of the Year award — well, first of all, Burt Bacharach and Seal! But also: Bacharach takes a moment to ask Seal, "Will we ever write a song together?" proving that just because a moment isn't scripted doesn't mean it's sincere. That could be a note for the whole event, actually. See you next year ... if the music business is still around. http://music.msn.com/music/grammys/bestworst?GT1=9076

February 12, 200718 yr I think that they are right in some sense - she really needs to move on from HDL, this imo should be the last awards show performance of it. I think if she would have performed an album track like 'Timor' then that would have been amazing! Still, imo an amazing performance, she stole the show imo, shame she didnt win her award
February 12, 200718 yr I HATE how shakira will never sing .. timor.. why make such a great song and never sing it, same goes for costume makes the clown and animal city -_-
