February 10, 200718 yr It really bugs me why most of the Japanese releases of albums get bonus tracks on their albums and the UK doesnt! Its like we are 2nd rate citizens!!! Why do they do that? because they are so damn expensive!!! gotta have something to stop people buying the imports
February 11, 200718 yr Absolutely! Imports in Japan are about £4-5 cheaper than the Japanese versions.
February 11, 200718 yr plus foreign albums in japan dotn sell well, they usually buy Japanese music only - so labels give incentives
February 11, 200718 yr a normal album translates to about £14, but for special editions Ive payed up to £30, but they are so worth there money imo
February 11, 200718 yr I'm an avid collector of Japanese albums, have virutally every Japanese album Feeder have released!!. I also have the UK versions, and then buy the imports!. Grant and Mark from Feeder were rather amazed and baffled I bought the Japanese import of "The Singles", when I gave got them to sign it after the Amsterdam gig last year!. It was the first one Grant ever signed!. As for Japanese albums, they're cheaper than UK ones alone, but shipping charges add onto it, but they well worth buying for extra tracks if you don't buy singles as the extra tracks are usally tracks that are B-sides on the albums singles. Like Feeder have done with their label Pony Canyon, "Polythene" though has no bonuses, and the album wasn't re-issued like in the UK. Instead the extra tracks on that re-issue appeared on the exclusive EP's you can buy over there, in which I have all of them!! D. http://www.hmv.co.jp/ is a great site, and there's an Oasis boxset exclusive to the country!!!.
February 11, 200718 yr The main reason I love buying Japanese releases: http://www.feederanorak.co.uk/Assets/Images/PTS_Jap_CD_Album_Whole_Package.jpg http://www.feederanorak.co.uk/Assets/Images/Thumbnails/PTS_CD_AND_DVD_Japan_Thumbnail.jpg Not long after the album made #2 in the UK this version made a respectable #59 in Japan :). The Obi-Strips are well really ace and unique looking :D, "Obi" is the Japanese word for "Sash" :) . Edited February 11, 200718 yr by Marcus
February 14, 200718 yr Does anyone know how much CDs are in Japan now. When I left there in 2002 the average Japanese cd cost 2500 yen (£13-14 depending on exchange rate) while imports from America and the UK were around 1600 yen (about £8)
