Robbie Williams left rehab after completing a 21-day programme for addiction to prescription drugs and headed straight to the shops and a nightclub.

The 33-year-old singer was smiling as he left the clinic in Arizona last night and returned to his house in Los Angeles where he will receive more counselling.

Robbie Williams: The singer left rehab yesterday after a three-week stay in a rehabilitation clinic for addiction to prescription drugs

 

 

According to his aides, before checking himself into the £2,000-a-night Meadows clinic Williams had had suicidal thoughts and begged them to get him help for addiction to prescription drugs and sleeping pills.

 

Hours after arriving back from Arizona, he went shopping in Beverly Hills, wearing a bright red V-neck sweater and showing off a new "love" tattoo on his knuckles.

 

Smoking a cigarette and wearing matching red and white trainers and cap, he chatted to fans and at one point punched his fist in the air.

 

One onlooker said: "Robbie was followed closely by several friends as he shopped for over an hour and a half in an upmarket department store. He was approached by two female fans and was happy to pose for photos. He was in great spirits."

 

His spokeswoman Bryony Watts said: "He has completed his stay in Arizona and came out yesterday. He will continue with an after-care programme."

 

She denied he had left the centre early, but a source at the clinic was reported as saying: "Robbie was meant to be here for four weeks but left after three."

 

The day he was admitted to the clinic - his 33rd birthday - his mother Jan said his decision to go into rehab was "the best gift he could have given himself".

 

Jan, a drugs counsellor, said she would go to the clinic to see him in his battle. She said: "I have known about Robbie's problems for some time and it has been very worrying.

 

"From a mother's point of view, going into rehab is the best birthday gift he could have given himself."

 

Friends revealed the singer had cut himself off from the world and that he was getting through 36 double espresso coffees, 60 Silk Cut cigarettes and around 20 cans of the energy drink Red Bull every day.

 

In the weeks before he went into rehab, Williams is said to have spent days watching TV or reading about himself on the internet.

 

The clinic is officially a level one psychiatric acute hospital and specialises in the "12-step" treatment of serious disorders from schizophrenia to heroin addiction.

I'm afraid there's more chance of me becoming next Pope than my Vista System allowing that video. I clicked on it and got about 500 flashing security messages. I'm sure I've got the CIA's firewall installed. :wacko:

Really? The second I click on it, windows media opens and it plays. :blink:

 

Basically it shows him walking down the street in the night lighting up and the press come over and ask him what he has to say to his fans back in the UK. He replies "What fans?! :lol: Then they tell him they were in Milton Keynes, he then askes if they brought their camera. They then ask if he will be watching the Man-U game tomorrow and tell him how well he looks. He then posses up against the well for people to take pics. They finally ask him if his mum is coming to visit and he replies "Well that would be telling" ^_^

I like his Celtic Cross and his Maori one.
