Peaches branded Madonna, who was awarded the Style Icon award but failed to show up to collect it, "irrelevant" and claimed "she's mutton dressed as lamb". •Peaches - who coincidentally didn't pick up any gongs, was escorted by her style disaster of a boyfriend Fred Les and managed to show off a little bit more than she wanted when leaving the bash - said: "In the Eighties Madonna was a style icon but now she's rehashing everything that's been done already. "I am definitely not a fan - she looks like mutton dressed as lamb. She is just not relevant now. She's up there on a pedestal and that's why people are honouring her, but it's not right." Celebrities Peaches does count as style icons are The OC star Mischa Barton and actress Chloe Sevigny. Peaches added: "They're the real people we should be celebrating tonight. They are the people that young girls look at today and they really influence us - not like Madonna. Elle Style need to step it up and chose someone more relevant next year." March 4, 200718 yr When I first saw the topic title I thought "here we go, another brat making a criticism about someone infinitely more powerful, famous and successful than themself to get in the tabloids". BUT her points were actually very constructive, she didn't just say it for the sake of saying it. I understand where she's coming from, she obviously thinks that were honouring Madonna just because she's Madonna, whereas they should be honouring more current people instead ^_^ Which makes sense imo.

But... she's literally saying Madonna is not relevant now, and I think that's not the case at all. The truth of the matter is, with more or less success, Madonna is still relevant now-a-days.
