well thats not looking good for the magic numbers new one : this is a song if thats all the new entrys and important records in the charts next week

so why does nobody like the Magic Numbers any more?

why have they become another one season wonder that the press/public/radio give up with after the first alb? is there no more USPs/press reports to this act than Trinidad, being a bit like the Mamas and Papas and being upset at fat jokes? was the 2nd album really that bad?

2nd album was awful.

'Forever Lost' was the only good Magic Numbers song really...they just weren't interesting enough to retain the indie fans...they're a wee bit like the Polyphonic Spree in that respect and less like, say, The Flaming Lips who worked their way up to being big.

Big promotion = big but short love

It's a warning to new indie bands...if you want a career then beware of the quick route to fame.

Forever Lost is still their best song. I also really liked "I See You, You See Me" off the debut and their new one is gorgeous. It's a shame people aren't interested but on the whole I'm probably not that bothered anyway.
I think "This Is A Song" is a very respectable tune. ^_^ I liked quite a few of their older stuff too.

Thought it was out next week?

If fans like myself do not know when it's out, then it cannot possibly do well

i dont really want to be mean but the two women are two of the most fattest ugliest woman ive ever seen. although thats not to do with there music.

i liked love me like you though, always reminds me of V festival 2005 when i hear it

Two of the fattest, ugliest woman you've ever seen? Take it you never visit your local McDonald's then?

Yep, it's nothing to do with the music. Although unfortunately it is universally-perceived beauty that sells records. That's why that awful new Jennifer Simpson record hit the top 40 and 'This is a Song' (which is not bad) has not.

I have to admit, I was really shocked at how bad the second album flopped considering how hyped up the debut outing was. It just got so ignored and slipped under the radar. :o

....Because they're dull, lame-o, retro c**p....??

Sorry, but they are one of the most BORING, lifeless bands it has ever been my misfortune to hear in all my living days... They make Belle and Sebastian seem like Napalm Death by comparison......

well everybody knows that chart hits is only about 30% to do with the music with the rest about selling copies of the Daily Star (page 16-17 the gossip pages, the center pages if lucky ) and keeping advertisers happy on commercial radio.

however thought the career would have more legs not just one of these one season wonders like HOTS for example.

also Jennifer Simpson is an American signed act so that helps longtevity in her career!!!

because their music is boring (imo) -_-

so if that is the case, why isnt it all over daytime radio and number 4 in te airplay charts??? boring never scared anyone in the background

there's just something horribly twee and nasty about fat bearded singers.

Just look at Michelle McManus......

Just look at Michelle McManus......

"Twee", that is a very good word to describe The Magic Numbers.... I hate 'twee'...... <_< "Twee" is just the polite, generous substitute for terms such as 'ball-less', 'gutless', 'uninspiring' and 'boring as fukk'.....

thats a good comeback even though the speed which popstars /idol/ x fact change and turn over its probably deemed more retro and out of date than a mamas and papas comp.
