Certainly one of the best American Comedy films of all time, and given the current appalling state of American Film comedy, I reckon that you certainly would NOT see a comedy film of such high calibre as this coming out of a mainstream US film studio an time soon.....

But let's look at it another way - "Shaun of the Dead", "Hot Fuzz" and "League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse"....... Brilliant British comedy films released in the past few years.... So......

I agree.

It's probably my favourite road movie too.

They showed it on Paramount 2 if you have Sky.

They might do again, we taped it.

I have the basic package so not sure if Paramount is included  but will check it out, time I upgraded, thanks :)

It's channel 128 I think.

You could probably buy it on ebay really cheap too.

I had to study road movies in college a while ago, it was probably my favourite because it's a comedy.

Some of them were boring.

Yeah I can't think of any other good ones at all tbh certainly not in the comedy genre, last good road trip movie if it can be called one that I remember liking is Thelma and Louise so there is a shortage of good ones

The movie "Road Trip" I thought was utterly dire

Which "Road Movie" films did you do...?

Some of my faves...

Wild At Heart (fantastically weird cos it's David Lynch)

Easy Rider (legendary film)

The Hitcher (the perfect marriage of Road Movie and Horror, I just cannot believe they've remade it with SEAN BLOODY BEAN taking over from the legend that is Rutger Hauer.... It's a bit like The Beatles replacing John Lennon with Gary Barlow or summat....)

I cant actually remember tbh, I have a sheet with them all on but it's at school.

Wild At Heart sounds familliar but I dont think we really looked at that much.

There was one with Johnny Depp on a train at the beginning but we only got to see that bit.

The only 'road movie' I can think of with Johnny Depp in is "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", based on the legendary and notorious book by Hunter S Thomson... But I dont remember any trains in that film....

No it wasn't that.

I think it's called Dead Man.

....Which is kind of a "Western" really (a very strange, wonderful and bizarre one, but still essentially a Western).... A "Road Movie" kind of has to have a 'road' somewhere, "Dead Man" is all prairies and rivers and forests....LOL

Well I think the teacher only showed us that film for the train bit at the start.

There was another one with Jack Nicholson, and they were in a diner. What was that called?

Could either be "Easy Rider" or "Five Easy Pieces"....

Thelma and Louise is an immense road movie <3. The only other road movie I like is Transamerica.

I Love This Movie, John Candy was a great actor.

Uncle Buck is great too :D

Steve Martin is HILLARIOUS. In all his comedy films he mostly delivers, he's brill,

LOVE that film to, not sure on Greatest Movie Of All Time though..
