An a really great rock song, one of the rockiest tracks Rob has ever done, and it is amazing live. The opening lines of the track with the American women talking are very funny. Sadly, there is no vid available on youtube but here is a great performance from another site. :cheer:

94. Rudebox

Released: (Rudebox album + single)

 

Well this may shock a few people as it was a lead single off an album, but I have never loved this song. I have tried, I really did, but never loved it. At first I described it as "a pile of $h!t" as Jup is always reminding me. :P But it has grown on me after many many listens, but is my least fave single after Something Stupid. I do not dislike it anymore, but it is quite embaressing and if Rob had've released a different song as the lead single I reken the album would've been alot more succesful. People are constatly getting the album and this song mixed up due to them having the same name which is most annoying as most of the songs on the album are miles better.

 

Anyway, this song was described "the worst song in music history" by Ms Newton from the Sun and called a "flop" by the Mirror yet it reached #1 in loads of countries and was the best selling single accross Europe for a number of weeks. :blink:

 

The lyrics are very clever but also very silly :lol:

 

It is FAR better live then on cd imo. Here is is from Brazil :dance:

True, it was a HUGE mistake to not only use the song as the lead single (cause it has made Rob lose alot of credibility by alot of people), but to call the album the same name was insane. 1974 would've made so much more sence. The minute people mention the album they think of the song and it is very off-putting for so many. <_<
